Cliff jumping might look epic on camera but it can go wrong fast 🎥🌊

If you’re somewhere new, don’t assume it’s deep enough. Shallow water, rocks and changing conditions can turn a fun jump into a bad day 😬

Find out the depth first and check in with locals to make sure you're not diving into a sandbank directly on camera 👀 If you’re not 100% sure, give it a miss—no post is worth a permanent injury!

Happy M8 Day 💛

Good mates don’t let their friends take stupid risks.

Swimming alone is never the go. Remember to always bring someone you can trust to speak up if something feels off, and don’t just go along with it if it doesn’t feel right.

👉 Tag a mate who’ll tell you you’re being a du***ss to your face, they're the real ones.

Things that actually scare me

We get asked a lot about water safety and there are plenty of myths out there 👀

We’ve answered some of the common questions we hear so you can feel more confident next time you’re around the water🧜‍♀️💙

Heading down after school for a quick fish before dinner? Remember conditions can change quickly, so it pays to be prepared:

✔️ wear a lifejacket
✔️ use rock boots for grip
✔️ bring a rope and use anchor points
✔️ always fish with a mate

If you're heading somewhere new, make sure to check the weather and water forecast before casting a line ask any locals around for advice.

Let's all be Mermates and make it home for dinner 🎣

Feeling dusty after a big night? Think a swim will help clear your head?

Think again

If you stop drinking at 2am, you still might not be sober until around 4pm the next day! Even when you feel “fine” your reaction time, coordination and judgement can still be off.

This long weekend, if you’re not 100%, stay out of the water and leave the swims until you’re feeling your best. Be a Mermate and look out for each other 🤝💙

Be honest, are you racing through uni or barely staying afloat?

We asked uni students at the start of semester what swimming stroke their degree would be and got a mix of answers. Remember to keep your head above water and look out for each other out there!

What stroke would your degree be? 🏊‍♀️
