Life Cycle is a registered charity which has run the OnRoad cycling event since 1998 and is held on the weekend after the long weekend in March, when we ride from Perth to Busselton over three days. Run by a dedicated group of volunteers on two committees; the ride is the biggest community fundraiser for Canteen in Australia. Canteen members, volunteers and staff participate in the OnRoad, giving riders the opportunity to meet and hear from the people we are supporting. (Life Cycle for CanTeen Inc (ABN 27 251 421 905) is registered as a charity with the ACNC.) Canteen supports young people living with cancer, whether it is their own diagnosis, or that of a parent or sibling. They help young people cope with cancer in their family, rebuild their foundations and connect with others in the same boat. Please help us help them, by giving whatever you can using the visiting our donation platform via the website link. The more people that know about Canteen, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to all of us! Whether they are dealing with their own diagnosis, a close family member’s cancer or the death of a loved one, Canteen provides:
- connection with peers in similar situations through events and programs
- free counselling and individual support
- 24/7 online support services for young people and parents
access to free information and resources
- specialist support services for young cancer patients
All support services are underpinned by Canteen’s research and evaluation team who conduct world-class psychosocial research with the ultimate goal of transforming the lives of young people affected by cancer. Canteen was set up by a group of young cancer patients in 1985 and young people still guide the organisation at every level.
