The women of match racing don’t wait — they take the lead.
Stilldroneinon brings you the first look at the action building toward the Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship 2025.
Day One delivered tight pre‑starts, bold lane changes, and the kind of split‑second decisions that define elite match racing. Fremantle turned on the breeze, the crews turned on the intensity, and the match‑ups set the tone for what’s coming.
This highlight reel captures the rhythm of the day — the acceleration off the line, the tactical duels up the beat, and the clean, clinical boat handling that separates contenders from the rest.
With the AWMRC hosted by Fremantle Sailing Club just around the corner, this is your preview of the battles to come. The sailors are ready. The course is ready. The stage is set.
AWMRC 2025 — precision, pressure, and pure match racing.
Fremantle spirit on full display — world‑class teamwork, WA waters, and dolphins leading the way.
Practice day delivered something special for the Fremantle Sailing Club team at the 2025 Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship — a perfect spinnaker run, a clean Fremantle breeze, and two dolphins breaching on either side of the bow. With Nia Jerwood on the helm and her crew — Georgia Payne, Ona Rafart, Caitlin Shaw, and Sophie Jackson — the team settled into rhythm, sharpening boat handling and communication ahead of the championship rounds.
As the Elliott 7 powered forward, more dolphins surfaced around the yacht, pacing the team in a moment that captured everything we love about sailing in Western Australia: wildlife, water, and world‑class women pushing their limits.
Stilldroneinon will be posting more footage in the lead‑up to the 2026 Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship, showcasing the athletes, the conditions, and the stories behind the teams preparing to battle it out on the match‑racing course.
You don’t realise the scale… until you do.
From front‑on it looks manageable — almost modest.
But once this MSC container ship rotates, it nearly fills the entire width of Fremantle Harbour.
A reminder of just how massive these vessels really are.

14k of Hurt — 30m of Glory
What a morning on the water. The OC Singles field pushed hard from the start, settling into a fast, relentless pace across the full 14 km course. No one backed off, and it showed — the leaders crossed the line with just 30 metres between them after the entire distance. A huge effort from every paddler out there.
Championship Starts. Sun Sets. Spirits Rise
