The Northlink WA central section, extending Tonkin Highway from Reid Highway (Malaga) to The Promenade (Ellenbrook) is located over the Gnangara Mound, a designated drinking water source area for Metropolitan Perth. To accommodate a major transport link over this drinking water source area, stringent environmental protection requirements were imposed to safeguard the underlying aquifer and surrounding water sensitive ecosystems.

Join us this 8th of Oct with Myles Busbridge, Drainage Lead, Northlink WA Central Section. Myles Busbridge is the roads team leader for GHD’s Roads and Civil Infrastructure Group.

It is no secret or surprise that a transport boom is overtaking the world. On every continent and in every government, transportation infrastructure is seeing a call to action as hasn’t been heard in decades. The reasons driving these are many, and the time for all institutions, private industries and members of the public to put a shoulder behind this boom is now.

During her 12th Brunel International Lecture Series, Linda Miller OBE will address three concepts pillars ruiling the transportation boom, using six “inescapables” to embrace and act upon. These will give practical examples, using concrete examples from recent projects on three continents.

A significant proportion of our daily life rely on the digital world, and as such the construction industry is not untouched.
Before any physical construction of infrastructure, framing the digital support to understand its functional aspects and to develop a database for decision making throughout the life-cycle of the structure is crucial these days.
Tech corps like Vectorworks and PTC sowed the first seed of Building information modelling (BIM) around 1985. In modern industry, BIM is not only used for understanding the life-cycle of structural design but also to make feasible, the delivery of the same structure.
Join us this 14th of June 2018 with Adrian Shambler, Professional Engineer with over 35 years' extensive experience developing, leading and managing multi-disciplinary design teams and Martin Harle, Forrestfield-Airport Link Permanent Way Lead Engineer and Steven Langley, Forrestfield-Airport Link Design / Constructability Integration Lead at GHD office, Perth.
