After three unforgettable years, the time has come for Taylor Motorsports to announce that we will be concluding our Top Doorslammer campaign, effective immediately.
When we first put this deal together three years ago, it was never about chasing championships. Don't get us wrong, winning championships is something every racer dreams of, but our main focus was always to build a team that could become Australia's quickest Top Doorslammer.
From day one, we had a three-year plan and set ourselves three main goals:
🏆 Win Rookie of the Year.
🏆 Become Australian Top Doorslammer Champions.
🏆 Become Australia's quickest Top Doorslammer and become the first team to run into the 5.55-second zone at a National Event.
Looking back now, it's incredibly satisfying to say we've achieved every one of those goals.
We won Rookie of the Year, went on to win back-to-back Australian Top Doorslammer Championships, and at the Winternationals we achieved something that will forever be part of Australian drag racing history by becoming Australia's quickest Top Doorslammer and the first team to break into the 5.55-second zone during a National Event.
Over the past few months, we've been in discussions regarding the future of our operation. We're sure many people will be asking why we'd step away now, especially when we're in a position to potentially win a third consecutive championship.
The answer is pretty simple.
For us, it has never been about collecting championship trophies. It has always been about pushing the limits, raising the bar and going quicker than we've ever gone before.
We achieved exactly what we set out to do. We established ourselves as a front-running team from the moment we entered the category, became a team respected and feared by our fellow competitors, and were fortunate enough to accomplish things that many thought weren't possible.
To our sponsors, thank you. Your belief in our team over the years has allowed us to chase our dreams and achieve far more than we ever imagined. We simply couldn't have done it without your unwavering support.
To our crew, thank you doesn't seem enough. The late nights in the workshop, the endless hours preparing the car, the long trips, the sacrifices and the commitment from every single person behind the scenes are what turned this team into a championship-winning operation.
Every trophy, every milestone and every record belongs to each and every one of you just as much as it does to us.
Finally, to our fans... Thank you!!!
Whether you cheered us on from the grandstands, followed every pass on social media, sent messages of encouragement or proudly wore our merchandise, your support has meant more than words can express. You've been with us every step of the way, and we will never take that for granted.
While our time in Top Doorslammer has come to an end, this certainly isn't the end of Taylor Motorsports.
For now, to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey over the past three years—thank you.
The memories, the friendships, the championships, the records and the history we've created together will stay with us forever.
