MAYLANDS ARE CHAMPIONS π π
Sent into the field, we dominated from the first ball. Anil and Arun bowled wonderfully together, bowling 8 overs for only 14 runs. Anil took the first 2 wickets followed by Arun in the 8th over. Sai Chandu and Suresh continued our dominance with the ball with Sai taking a wicket on the second ball of his spell and Suresh in the next over. Ellenbrook were in shambles at 5/16 in 10 overs. However a partnership brought them to 5/55 at drinks. It was Suresh who took his second to break the partnership, and expose the Ellenbrook tail. Sai Chandu took advantage with another 2 wickets in the same over, 3/17 for the innings. Preetham took a late wicket and Suresh finished up the innings with his 3rd wicket and figures of 3/11, with Ellenbrook being bundled out for 96 with 6 penalty runs added.
We took our batting slow and steady, however lost Preetham early. Venkata and Sai controlled the innings, taking us to 2/41 at drinks. A double wicket over put us under pressure, after Sai scored 28. Arun changed the momentum of the match with an aggressive knock scoring 20(19), allowing Srujan to anchor and Suresh to hit the winning runs with 4 overs to spare.
Sai was Player of the Match with his 28(48) and 2 fours

A strong win sends us through to the Grand Final πͺ
Winning the toss, we elected to bat. Unfortunately, it was not the start we were looking for, losing 3 wickets inside 8 overs. Srujan and Arun countered taking us to drinks at 3/69. Arun was dismissed for 28 shortly after, followed by Srujan for 25. We started to up our run rate for the second half but lost 3 wickets leaving us at a precarious 8/106 with 10 overs remaining. Needing runs for a competitive score, it was Narendra who stood up. He scored 33 off 31 with 3 fours in crucial partnerships of 36 and 29 Arjun and Sai Chandu to bring our total up to 171.
Tirumala struck earlier with a wicket in the second over. The Scarborough batters dug in before Tirumala struck again as well as 2 wickets to Sai Chandu. They were 4/66 at drinks with one batter settled in. It was Arun who took the crucial breakthrough, which caused a batting collapse for Scarborough. We took the final 5 wickets for 17 runs securing our spot in the Grand Final against Ellenbrook. Tirulama took 4 wickets, Sai Chandu 2 and Arun with 3.

Disappointing finish to the season π
With 8 players taking to the field we tried our best to be competitive. Jasper took an early wicket after a chop on and Sadd with one after Andrew took a diving catch in the covers. However, the Belmont batters got on top. A late wicket went to Sadd but the Belmont batters piled on runs.
Batting did not go much better with the loss of many wickets with few runs. Will top scored with 32 and Hamed showed some great survival batting with 0*(23).

Not the way we wanted to end the season π
Bowling first, we built early pressure. However, the Swan View batters countered with aggression. Sadd took the first with a knick through to Phani. They were 2/98 at drinks. They continued to score runs until the breakthrough came from Lincoln, after a chop onto the stumps. Lincoln and Hoggy bowled in partnership to apply mounting pressure. Lincoln clean bowled another before Hoggy took the big wicket of the opener, caught by Xavier at mid off. Jasper took the wicket of the in batter, and Lincoln added 2 more wickets, taking 4 for 33 in the innings. Jasper took another and Phani got a run out last ball.
With Jasper having 15 minutes to bat, he made the most of it. He smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes on his way to 36*(23) balls before heading off to work. Sazz and Will continued the flow of runs taking us to 0/64 after 7 overs. Xavier and Will put 50 runs together before Will was dismissed for 47(51) at drinks 2/118. However, a batting collapse meant we lost 8 wickets for 37, ending our season outside of finals.

Congratulations Andrew!

Another close loss π’
Will and Andrew opened the batting together and put together a mammoth 132 run partnership. They batted with intent, looking to score often, hitting many 1s and 2s into the gaps and putting bad balls away for boundaries. We came to drinks without the loss of a wicket with 0/98. We continued the flow of runs before Andrew was finally dismissed in the 29th over for 57(100). Will continued scoring before being run out for 75(87) with 7 fours. Jasper, Sazz, Sadd, Jason and Hoggy all added to the score with Xavier ending the innings with a blitz scoring a fast 21*(14) taking our total to 212.
The Carlisle batters came out with aggression taking it to us. Sadd took the opening wicket after getting an edge through to Xavier. Will took the next trapping the batter LBW. However, the other opener continued score boundaries. It was Andrew who took the crucial wicket with the first ball of his spell after a mis-hit was caught by Sazz at mid on. Carlisle chipped away before Andrew took a catch at cover to get the fourth wicket. However, their batters dug in eventually chasing us down with 2 balls left.
