The importation of Nucanoes into Australia began when Urban Watercraft Managing director, Mike Brooker was on holiday in the United States of America in 2010. On that holiday he saw an amazing canoe, it was stable, had multiple uses and a person could walk on it. Normal holiday activities were suspended while Mike found more about the Nucanoes and negotiated distribution rights for Australia.
