Not every part of tournament preparation happens on the football pitch. ✈️🇺🇸
After travelling more than 30 hours from Australia, these first few days in the USA were carefully planned to give the boys time to acclimatise, recover and strengthen their connection as a team.
To them, it may have simply felt like airport laughs, time in the pool and team dinners—but these moments matter.
Spending time together away from football helps players feel comfortable with one another, strengthens communication and builds genuine trust.
Because when players trust each other off the pitch, they support each other, communicate better and work harder for one another on it.
We came all this way to represent GFC and Australia as one united team. 🇦🇺
Now it’s time to take that connection onto the pitch at IBERCUP USA.

The GFC October Camp is built for players who want more from their school holidays: more purposeful touches, more decisions, more challenges and more opportunities to play. Our coaching is structured, encouraging and demanding in the right way, helping ambitious young players take another step forward. Players born 2017–2012 are welcome, including those who are new to GFC.

International football demands more. Players face unfamiliar opponents, different rhythms and new tactical problems without the comfort of knowing exactly what comes next. That environment accelerates learning. It challenges players to scan earlier, communicate more clearly and make stronger decisions under pressure. These experiences are an important part of the GFC pathway.

Camp bookings are open. While the GFC team begins its USA journey, our October Camp remains ready for players at home who want to finish the year strongly. Across 7–9 October, players will work through technical development, competitive challenges and game-based learning in a focused GFC environment. Choose Wednesday, the Thursday–Friday Post-Season Cup, or the complete three-day experience.

One team. One opportunity. Tomorrow, GFC leaves Perth for IberCup USA. The work has been done, the group is united and now it is time to embrace the experience. The club season may be finishing, but development does not have to stop. The GFC October Camp gives players born 2017–2012 three high-energy days of technical work, competitive challenges and match play at St Stephen's School, Duncraig. It is built for players who want purposeful coaching, more touches and the chance to keep improving during the school holidays. New players are welcome.

Brazil was one international chapter. Raleigh is next. Every trip exposes our players to different opponents, new playing styles and moments that require courage, adaptability and quick thinking. On Monday, GFC begins the journey to IberCup USA ready to represent Australia and continue learning through high-level international competition. We are proud of how far this group has come and excited for the next challenge.

One month to go. At the end of September, GFC returns to Kota Kinabalu for the Borneo Cup. Last year gave our players competitive football, new friendships and the experience of travelling together as a team. This year we return with those lessons, higher expectations and another group ready to represent GFC with pride. The tournament is about more than results: it is an opportunity for players to grow in independence, responsibility and confidence while competing in a new environment.
