The weekend that was.. or almost was

Margaret River Easter showcase and V8 Dirt Modified State Title

With the #7 Junior Sedan parked in the shed, the Pedersen crew hit the road to Margaret River for an epic 2-night battle to stake our claim for the WA1 title.

Good Friday
The pressure was on from the get go. All the drivers proved that they came ready for a fight and were not going to give an inch to become State champion.

The #88 came out strong in the first heat, charging from 5th position to bring it home in 3rd.
Heat 2 saw Raz dominate, leading from start to finish.
The preliminary feature saw Raz in pole position and despite the #88 having some over fueling issues dropping him down to 3rd, Raz really was on fire (literally)!

Easter Sunday - WA State Title
Sunday night was set up for an epic battle.
After some readjustments and spare parts from TKR Racing (thanks guys!), the #88 roared in to action and was ready to race.
Heat 1 - Raz started in 5th and crossed the line in 2nd place
Heat 2 was a repeat of Friday night to bring home another win which meant FBR Racing claimed both 1st and 2nd position in the almighty feature. It was shaping up to be an epic 25 lap showdown with the defending WA1 right behind them.

Kris took an early lead but Raz stayed hot on his tail. Lap 15 saw yellows which brought the pack back together. As soon as those greens came on, Raz saw his opportunity and stole 1st place. The battle was on!! Foot flat, Raz was off BUT the night ended in a cloud of smoke and steam (and a few explicit words from both driver and team) all because a lousy bolt had come loose from the exhaust 3 laps before the chequered flag (insert shattered hearts 💔)

Even though it wasn't our night, we could not be happier that our team mate Kris took home the title of WA1! He drove like an absolute champion all weekend and earned every bit of that title.

A special shout out to FBR - Falconbridge Racing for giving Raz the opportunity to fight for the title once more. Ricey Off Road for driving back and forth all weekend to capture this unmissable moment.

Race Report - Margaret River 20th February 2026

Another great night of racing!

Lillian keeps impressing us with her confidence on the track as she progressively gains speed each time she races.
Her consistant and controlled driving means she holds her line and picks the smoothest part of the track giving her a great run on the straights and setting her up nicely for the corners.
Nerves were at an all time high after a slight mishap in the pits (sorry Dad) and she was drawn to start off in poll for the 2nd heat which saw her a little flustered getting in to the car. After a rejig in positions, she hit the track with an extra deep breath and smashed it!

The Feature saw all 14 cars on track and nobody was willing to give an inch! Lillian was cool and collected and not only over took a car but even managed to lap them bringing it home in a steady 10th!

She even managed to nail the tight parking by the end of the night!

Super proud of the effort, determination and resilience she continues to show each and every race!

The night didn't start off as we planned after an in pit parking mishap saw the #88 sideline while a bent right rear spring rod needed to be replaced (note to self, don't hit Dad's car just before his race) but Raz was back out there for the 2nd heat and ready to race! Starting out of pole position, the set up wasn't quite where it needed to be after the quick repairs however he drove like a champion and brought it home in 2nd.

After a few adjustments 3rd heat went much better. Starting out of the rear, Raz fought his way through the pack and came away with a well deserved 2nd place right behind team mate Kris #87

With the feature up next Raz rolled out in 4th position with Kris lining up in poll but unfortunately had to pull in field before the lights went green. This pushed Raz up to 3rd and gave him the perfect start that he had been craving all night. Finally the car was dialed in and the driver showed his true talent to bring home the WIN 🏆 Finally!

After some real struggles with this car, it was nice to finally see that number 1!

Margaret River, here we come!
#7 & #88

It’s been a little quiet on here over Christmas and New Year, but we’re back into it — and what a way to kick things off! 🏁🎄✨

Lillian had another awesome night at Bunbury Speedway on the weekend and continues to impress us with how much she’s improving each meeting. She’s getting faster and more confident every time she straps in.

In the first heat she dropped back a little at the start, but then really found her rhythm and began reeling in the car in front of her. Give her another lap or two and we reckon she would’ve had a crack at a pass.

There was unfortunately a fairly big crash involving another competitor, which understandably rattled a few of the kids. We definitely saw that affect Lillian for a short time — she slowed a little and was understandably nervous about getting back in the car. But the resilience she showed was huge. By the time the feature rolled around, she’d shaken it off, got her confidence back, and was charging again — faster and smoother every lap 👏

As always, it was a late one (about a 1:30am home time 😴), but nights like these are absolutely worth it when you see the growth, determination, and passion on display.

Our Daddy-Daughter race team are back at the track tomorrow night for Round 2 of Perth Motorplex Fast Friday.

Pits are open to all spectators so come check it out. Racing from 6pm.

When we say we are a family team, we really mean it!

It was a team effort waking up at 5.30am to get down to Collie for the New Stars Development Day at Collie Speedway.

A huge thank you to Collie Speedway and all the volunteers for putting on such an invaluable opportunity for the kids.

Round 2 for the #7 at Perth Motorplex last night and the return of the #88 (formerly known as the #99).

Both Top Stars and New Stars hit the track together. Lillian's nerves were definitely out numbered by excitement and she oozed confidence as she strapped herself in. Highlight of the race was reaching 3rd gear which was her only goal for the night. So proud of you sweetheart!

How good does the #88 V8 Dirt Modified look in it's new skin to match team mate #87 Kris Falconbridge. A few teething issues with the freshly rebuilt engine but still managed to take out 2nd position in both heats. We are so thankful to both Kev and Kris for letting Raz jump back in the drivers seat for this season.

FBR - Falconbridge Racing are certainly one to keep an eye on this season as they both battle it out for top position.

We were hopefully that the rain would hold off but unfortunately mother nature had other plans and racing was called off after heat 2 for Raz meaning Lillian only got the 1 race. But that has not dampen her spirits as she will hit the track tomorrow for the New Stars Development Day at Collie Speedway.

Both cars are back at Perth Motorplex on Friday 14th November. We can't wait for another night of awesome racing!
