How many times have you said “I need to start doing XYZ next week.” … “I just need to be better at XYZ.”
Only to keep running into the same road block every week?

There’s knowing what you need to do better at, then there’s knowing what is getting in the way and having some actions to address it.

Identify why it keeps happening. What are the friction points? Then, problem solve it, what can we put in place to make it work?

Most people know what it is they need to do, but don’t know how to implement it.

This is an exercise I get my clients to do to help them resolve the friction points.

Does achieving your goals feel so complicated sometimes?

You don’t need a flashy program, an extreme diet, or the latest TikTok routine. The boring basics are what actually work. Simple habits, done consistently and for long enough, are what drive results and, more importantly, make them sustainable.

I know. Not very sexy. But you want to put something in place that you’re actually going to be able to sustain forever.

✔️ Lift weights 2 - 3 x a week - build a program that allows you to train hard, but also gives you the ability to actually recover from your sessions

✔️ Eat enough - protein, real food, fuel. If you’re under eating, you’re going to be constantly exhausted, underperforming in the gym, and leaving progress on the table

✔️ Sleep - because poor sleep impacts your cravings, energy, recovery and overall health

✔️ Manage stress - chronic stress keeps your body in a “fight or flight” state, which can increase cravings, disrupt sleep, slow recovery, and make fat loss and muscle gain harder than it needs to be

✔️ Stay consistent - even imperfect consistency beats a perfect program you can’t actually stick to. Months is where the change lives. Consistency looks like showing up most of the time, even when motivation is low, or life is messy.

Ideally, we want to be in a place where these habits aren’t the exception… they’re the rule.

The results you’re looking for aren’t hiding behind something more complicated. They’re usually found in doing the simple things well, over and over again, until they become part of how you live.

A challenge I often see clients facing as a coach.

Trying to do too much. 🫶🏼

I’ve been working in the fitness industry for 20 years now and this is one of the most common conversations I have with new clients.

The best plan is the one that you can stick to and is tailored to you.

More is not better, better is better.

Have you found yourself trying to do too much?

“We all have the same 24 hours in a day.”
Every time I hear that, or something to that effect, my soul rolls its eyes so hard it hurts.

I am sure I have spouted the same rubbish once upon a time.
Yes. Technically, we all do have 24 hours.
But those 24 hours don’t look the same for a single, child-free human who sleeps eight blissful, uninterrupted hours, vs. a mum navigating daycare drop-offs, toddler meltdowns, business admin, meal prep, a partner who works long hours, no village, and trying to train somewhere between the chaos. If you think they are the same, you’re delulu.

Some people wake up, sip their coffee in silence, go to the gym, and “choose their hard.”
Others wake up to instant chaos, a small human climbing on their face, three loads of washing, a barking dog, work deadlines, a daycare call because someone suddenly has a mysterious rash.

I’m not saying either is better or worse.
But not all 24 hours are made equal.
Your 24 hours are not my 24 hours.
And my clients’ 24 hours are not each other’s.

This is why blanket advice drives me insane.
Telling someone “just be more disciplined” or “if it was important you would find a way” when they’re already drowning is lazy coaching. Its not motivating at all for someone who really wants to achieve their goals, but is struggling with time, and lack of resources and support.

Coaching is not pretending everyone has the same circumstances.
It’s meeting people where they’re actually at and supporting them in building systems that fit their life.

So no, we don’t have the same 24 hours.
But we can all learn to use the hours we do have in a way that actually works without burning out. In needs to be realistic and sustainable.

if this is the season you are in now, you are not failing with your 24 hours, it is hard, and you just need the right plan and support.

Some of us don’t need more motivation, we need more time.

If you feel like there’s just not enough hours in the day, this is for you

Happy Mothers Day

I am forever inspired by the incredible mummas I have around me. You’re all amazing

But this one goes out to the Mummas doing it with very little, or no village.

I see you trying, juggling, exhausted, but showing up every day. 🫶🏼

This s**t is hard.

No one to call to come and watch the kids for an hour so you can get things done.

Working during nap times, or with some snacks and Stitch.

Doing your best to stay patient, when it’s just you, all day, every day. And there’s the times when you fail, and you get so damn frustrated with yourself for not being better.

You’re trying to work, run the household, and parent intentionally, and gently.

Then theres the bit where you need to fit yourself in. But when? I know…. It’s imperfect, but you’re doing your best at that too. And it’s so important that you keep making time for your health and well-being.

Sometimes I feel like I given so much of myself to people, and it feels like it’s just never enough.

I want you to know .. you make a difference

Keep going Mumma. Please don’t give up on yourself. It matters, you matter. 💕

Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I see you 🫶🏼

First session of 2025 - a leg day of course

I’ve actually managed 4 sessions this week so far. And I feel great 🙏🏼 a good week for me!

For those following along, I haven’t spent a lot of time on socials in 2024. Life was really busy. It was a challenging year for me. I will talk more about the year that was soon.

I juggled motherhood, business, injury after injury, burnout x 2, a flooded house, a spider infestation, multiple hospital visits for Demi, a baby that doesn’t sleep, and Luke posted at Rottnest for work for 8 weeks. For all of the year last year I managed this with no extra hands to help. But I made it.

On top of this we had people we thought were supposed to love and support us, actively make things so much harder for us, it hurt our brand new little family, a lot.

But I showed up. I showed up as a mother, I followed my heart and did what I knew was best for her, despite the judgment, the push back and other well meaning advice.
I’ve done the work on myself, all year, to show up as the best mum I can for her.

I showed up as a friend, a partner, a daughter, a sister … as best I could.

I poured my heart and soul into my little family, and my team and clients. I showed up as a coach. I gave all I had to them. Many evenings over the year spent supporting clients, and almost weekly a night or two I missed being part of my baby girls bedtime routine. I’ve done my absolute best to show up for my team, albeit imperfect at times … sleep deprived, stressed, broken hearted.

I gave 2024 everything I had.

Amongst all the grey clouds of the year, it was the most beautiful year of my life as I watch my baby girl growing into the most incredible little human. She’s so smart, and cheeky, and excited. I am so fkng lucky to be her mumma.

I watched my clients as they did things they never thought they could, as they changed, or as they had moments where they realised what they had actually achieved. I watched them learn to back themselves, love themselves more, and want more for themselves.

I learned many lessons. I will share soon

2025, I start as the newest version of myself, but more myself than ever. I’m excited to see what I can make of it ❤️

05/11/2024

A little bit of life lately…

My baby girl just turned one. 1️⃣

I got to the gym twice in the last 3 days despite Demi being a little under the weather again which is a huge win for me.

We have a couple of new athletes joined the team and a few team members well into a pre prep now.

I’ve managed to avoid a surgery this year which I’m relieved about. Luke and I have had a challenging year and we prefer not to load anything else onto our plate for the rest of 2024. 💁🏼‍♀️ Little Winnie also narrowly avoided surgery 🙏🏼

I am still learning … how to balance mum life and biz life … and fit myself in, it’s a slow process, I’ve feel like I’ve got a lot wrong, but I feel like I’ve got more right lately. You can’t rush something that you want to last forever.

I was dissapointed by a few people this year, very dissapointed. But it reminded me yet again of how lucky we are to have the incredible circle of people around us that we do, people that are also good for Demi.

I’m really excited for the rest of this year as I get better at this mumpreneur gig, nourish the new relationships that parenthood has gifted us with, and I’m excited for 2025 as I have big goals and dreams for the year.

For the first time in a long time … I’m really excited for Christmas .. and how magical it’s going to feel for Demi. 🫶🏼

I’m slowly trying to get back onto socials a bit more, but I’ve made no secret about the fact that my family and my clients are my priority right now.

I am opening up some seats on the team, for both lifestyle and comp prep, so drop me a message if you’d like to find out more. 🙏🏼

I don’t post on here a lot lately, for a few reasons but mainly because life’s been busy. I’m a working mum. I run the business and taking care of my clients will always come before posting, care for our beautiful baby girl, maintain our home, do most of our life admin, still trying to work out where I fit in all of this.

Today I’m heading out to the to support my athletes and in their competition debut . I couldn’t be prouder of them and am so excited to watch them today.

Right now im gathering myself together to leave the house, getting in some last minute cuddles and kisses with my squish. This is the longest I’m going to have been away from her today and it’s such a mixed feeling. I wish I could take her with me, and I’m going to miss her cuddles today .. but I’m also so excited to immerse myself back into the competition scene. My first comp attendance since having bubba girl.

Still working out what merging these two worlds is supposed to look at feel like.

Looking forward to seeing everyone strut their stuff today. 🙌🏼
