𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.

The hockey world comes together in August for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, and preparations are underway around the world.

The SA Women's squad, having qualified by winning the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt last year, held a training camp in Gauteng this last weekend with five of the Gryphon Pack taking part in the ""Green vs Gold"" matches.

Stephanie Botha says: "It's important to make the best of the time we have together as the national squad. We had some good inter-squad matches that allowed coaching staff to experience various structures and for players to adapt and grow as a squad, and now we can only build onto that in preparation for the World Cup. As a squad we are clear on what is expected. We are chasing that 1%."

Having been part of the SA Women's team that won the African Cup of Nations in October 2025, Caylin Maree is again joining the SA Women's Squad as they prepare for the upcoming FIH Hockey World Cup in August.

Originally from the Eastern Cape, Caylin played for Maties while studying, and now plays for Central Hockey Club and Western Province.

Jaydon Brooker is one of South Africa’s most exciting young hockey talents - a powerful drag flicker and multi-sport athlete originally from Kimberley. He has represented the SA U21 side, and quickly made a name for himself through his goal-scoring ability and calmness in high-pressure moments. He was named both Top Goal Scorer and Player of the Tournament at the Junior Africa Cup in 2025.

Paris-Gail Isaacs is a rising South African hockey star who has already represented South Africa at senior international level and at the Olympic Games, while still incredibly young. She is known for her composure, athleticism and maturity on the field. She has also represented the SA U21, side and continues to establish herself as one of the brightest young players in South African hockey.

Jeandré van Zyl is a standout South African schoolboy hockey player who captained the SA Under-16 Boys' outdoor team as well as captained the Boland provincial U-16 side.

This weekend he was in action for Paul Roos Gymnasium in an epic battle against Rondebosch, as well as for Central Hockey Club Men's Grand Challenge 1st team against WPCC in a "must watch" league fixture.
