Match Report: Noranda Emerald vs. Maccabi 12/4/26

In their first home game as the newly merged team, Noranda Emerald showcased a strong performance under the sweltering sun during the club’s family day for sponsors. The atmosphere was vibrant, setting the stage for an exciting match that concluded with a convincing 4-1 victory for Noranda.

The match began with Noranda dominating possession but struggling to create significant chances. Maccabi took the lead, going up 1-0 with their only shot on goal in the first half. Undeterred, Noranda responded with determination. Aaron McDaid played a pivotal role, expertly laying off the ball to Jake Stevenson, who unleashed a stunning left-footed strike from 30 yards out. The ball soared off the underside of the crossbar, rattling into the top right corner, sparking celebrations among the home supporters.

At halftime, the score was 1-1, but Noranda emerged from the break with renewed intensity. Ronan Faherty, who was influential after being introduced at halftime, netted the second goal with a powerful half-volley from the edge of the box, putting Noranda back in the lead. As the momentum shifted, Andrew Wood, another substitute, made an immediate impact by winning a penalty. Midfield general Connor Gormley stepped up to convert it with confidence, extending the lead to 3-1.

Wood wasn’t done there; he further cemented his place in the match report by getting on the score sheet himself, showcasing a brilliant finish from a well-placed pass by Gormley. With this goal, Noranda wrapped up a fantastic afternoon, marking a successful home debut for the first team.

In the reserve match, Noranda Emerald’s second team also enjoyed a comfortable victory against Maccabi. Goals from Connor Jordon, Aaron Fretwell, Gavin Greene, and Keith Weekes highlighted a strong performance by the lads, contributing to a stellar 6-point Sunday for our Amateur Premier team.

It was a day to remember for Noranda Emerald, with both teams delivering impressive performances and setting a positive tone for the season ahead!

Match Report: Noranda Emerald vs. Kingsley Westside

In their first game of the season, the newly merged Noranda Emerald faced off against Kingsley Westside, showcasing a promising start despite the final score.

Emerald dominated possession early on, creating several half chances but struggled to convert them into goals. Just before halftime, Connor Gormley broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal, giving Emerald a crucial lead.

However, instead of building on their momentum, Noranda allowed Kingsley back into the game, leading to an equalising goal that shifted the dynamics of the match. Despite having numerous opportunities to reclaim the lead, Emerald found themselves fortunate to secure a draw when Kingsley came close to winning it, only to be thwarted by a fantastic save from Ger Doran.

Overall, a point away from home against a decent Kingsley side is not the worst start for the new club, but they will look to convert their chances and build on this performance in upcoming matches.

Match Report: Noranda Emerald Reserves vs. Kingsley

The Noranda Emerald Reserves kicked off their season in spectacular fashion with an impressive 5-1 victory over Kingsley.

The team got off to a bright start, demonstrating excellent teamwork and attacking prowess throughout the match. Notable performances included debut goals from Euan Berry and Richie Gardiner, adding excitement to the squad’s opening day.

Cillian Fagan, Keith Weekes, and Ricky Rowe also found the back of the net, sealing a comprehensive win for the lads. This dominant performance not only boosts their confidence but sets the tone for an encouraging season ahead. Overall, a fantastic start for the Noranda Emerald Reserves!

Our First Team takes on North Perth United this evening in the semi-final of the Men’s Amateur Night Series at Players Place, Madeley. Kick-off is at 6:30pm.

We encourage all supporters to come down and get behind NEFC as we push for a place in the final. 🟢🔵

No prior coaching experience is required, as comprehensive coaching resources, including a structured manual and ongoing guidance, will be provided to equip you with the skills and confidence to succeed as a coach.
