Thanks Zak, no begrudging of your decision from here. During your time you have left everything on the playing field, especially that last Showdown, and that’s all a supporter can ask. Testament to this is the fact that if you win the Jack Cahill Medal next Tuesday only Russell Ebert would’ve won more club best-and-fairest in our club’s 156 year history.

It was Bucky’s original deal in 1994 for our club to leave no presence in the SANFL upon joining the AFL. It was only after the local clubs decided their gate takings would be hit that they lobbied for our continued presence (without the reserves link mind you). Leaving the SANFL entirely is going back to the future, and for the best!
