Welcome, Zane Petkovic!

Port Melbourne Soccer Club welcomes Zane Petkovic as our U15 Head Coach for the upcoming BYSL season.

Zane brings more than five years of coaching experience across senior and junior football, including coaching roles with Bundoora United SC, Brunswick Juventus FC, Daylesford United SC and Ballarat City FC.

He holds a Football Australia C Diploma and MiniRoos Certificate, with a coaching approach centred on player development, tactical understanding, high standards and strong team culture.

Zane’s experience will support the continued development of our young players as they progress through the Port Melbourne Youth pathway.

Our Port Melbourne Youth program is built for ambitious players who are committed to improving every day, embracing a high-performance environment, and earning opportunities through hard work.

We are committed to developing players, not just teams. Through an aligned coaching philosophy and a genuine player pathway, our footballers are given the opportunity to progress from the BYSL program through to our Senior Men’s program.

When senior opportunities arise, we look within our own club first.

Sunday marked the end of a fantastic season for our U8–U12 players, filled with development, teamwork, new friendships and plenty of memories along the way. 👏

A special Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, father figures and families who have supported our young Sharks every step of the way. Your time, encouragement and commitment make a huge difference. 💙

A massive thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers and families for making it another great season for Port Melbourne Youth.

Dale Theuma appointed U14 Head Coach for 2027.

Port Melbourne Sharks is pleased to confirm Dale Theuma as Head Coach of our U14 Squad for the upcoming season.

Entering his fifth year coaching at the club, Dale continues to play an important role in the development of our young Sharks, while progressing through his C Licence accreditation.

His coaching philosophy is centred around creating a positive and professional environment where players can express themselves, develop their game and play with confidence.

With a strong focus on technical and tactical development, Dale’s adaptive approach will help our players continue to grow within a high-performance environment.

U23 & SENIORS | EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Port Melbourne Sharks are inviting U23 and emerging senior players to register their Expression of Interest for the upcoming season.

Built around our Port Melbourne Youth Pathway, we are committed to developing and promoting young, talented players who are ready to take the next step into senior football.

Under the guidance of Head Coach David Thomson, formerly of APIA Leichhardt, players will have the opportunity to train and compete in an environment designed to bridge the gap between youth and senior football.

Jason Van Berkel appointed U18 Head Coach for 2027 🦈

Port Melbourne welcomes Jason Van Berkel as our U18 Head Coach for the upcoming season.

Bringing 15+ years of coaching experience across junior, youth and senior football, Jason joins the Sharks with an AFC B Licence and a strong track record in player development, team success and leadership.

His experience with Melbourne Knights and North Geelong FC, alongside his work as a Football Victoria Course Presenter and Technical Director, brings valuable knowledge and experience to our youth pathway.

Jason’s focus on developing technically strong, tactically intelligent players, while building a positive and high-standard team culture, makes him a fantastic addition to our coaching group.
