Georges Cove next to Moorebank has a terrific new bridge and a walkway to a really big river

Photos from CycleSydney's post 31/05/2026

There is a fantastic bridge to a brand new suburb next to Moorebank called Georges Cove. Everyone has an amazing home on a small block and the nearest shops are a decent distance away across a busy road. So they built a terrific active bridge across a busy road. Story later on cyclesydney dot com if you sign up

The bridge tech is the same terrific grid surface that they used in abundance on the Muddy Creek cycleway.

Great riding along the Georges River but how do you get there 🤔. Route 66 may be your answer. Express train to Lidcombe and you are away 🚴🏻

Rarely do coffee shop posts unless they are in a unique location and not obvious. Brooks Cafe South Lidcombe is one. Ride 66 has started (maybe Route 66 ) from Lidcombe to the Georges River

HowDee everyone! Ride 19 of the Eastern Suburbs Harbour & Hills Trail is up, taking us from the ferries at Double Bay all the way up to Waverley. 🚴‍♂️🌊

This route is a real mix of spectacular water views and a bit of a leg-burner. We kick off with that magnificent boat scenery along the Rose Bay cycleway (plus a sneaky on-road detour to see how the other half lives at Point Piper).

Then, we have to tackle the steep pinch up Birriga Road. Fair warning: you might curse my name while grinding up that hill, but the sweeping harbour views from the top at Bellevue Park make it totally worth the sweat! We finish off by cruising the quirky green contra-flow path on Henrietta Street before rolling right down to Bronte Beach for a well-earned swim.

Check out these two photos from the route below to get a feel for it! 👇

🔗 I’ve dropped the link to the full article—including the complete RideWithGPS map and the full-length YouTube video—down in the first comment.

Let me know if you've braved the Birriga climb lately!

There is a carpark cycleway at muddy creek that may signal intent to create the much needed new trail around river near international airport.

Have you ever seen a one way "corner dodging" shortcut like this one on Birriga Rd in Bellevue Hill (only uphill). Story coming up on CycleSydney dot com

Finished putting together Ride 19 - Rose Bay to Waverley page. See comments for d**k I cannot wait until O'Sullivan Rd commences then this roundabout way of getting around will be less important. But for now, this path has some great scenery so it is worth writing up.

The upgraded rides are spreading across the North of Sydney. Just added Frenchs Forest to Dee Why
