Exciting couple of days for the girl. Ash was selected to continue onto the next 12 month developmental stage of the YouFor2032 process, she has been invited to the Queensland Sports academy for a 2 day training camp with all the other amazing young athletes from around Queensland. It’s amazing that from the 6000 kids that originally applied, there are around 100 who have made it this far. So very cool ☺️👍

Ash was meant to be at her monthly sailing training camp in Brissy, but was lucky enough to join another young sailor to try her hand at her very first Regatta for the Road Tech Marine 2023 Womens Regatta. Everyone was so kind and helpful to her. The girls placed 2nd in the Division 2 Multihulls racing a catamaran. Super cool. ☺️💕

Ash had a pretty awesome Zoom meeting tonight with some of the coaches for the YouFor2032 female sailing crew. We are super proud as she has made the selection and moves on to the 12 month talent development phase. For a kid that had never been on a boat before this, it’s pretty damn cool.
Now, if we could just win the lotto so we could move further South and be closer to the action, that would be very helpful 😂👍

A late post for day 4 yesterday…. It was only Summer competing with sprints. She won her heat 1 repecharge but was unfortunately knocked out in the qualifying round. So it was an early knock and the end of a very big few days for our babies. I’m buggered just from watching these guys, so I can’t even imagine how all the athletes are feeling today.
So, as stands the tradition, it was off to ice skating today and later, pancakes! ☺️💕

The end of day 3, and the end of Ashs time competing in the juniors after 8yrs of riding and what a way to finish it off, with her very first medal in her very last race in the team sprint. If she decides to continue with track, it will be in the under 19s with the big girls.
Summer had some good rides today, and did some spot on starts considering she hasn’t had much practice. Although it would be cool to place in the top 3 with their events, it’s also awesome to see the girls try and beat their own personal bests.
A special mention of Nevs big achievement yesterday, his very first medal ever, a bronze for his individual pursuit for the 2000m☺️👍
All 3 Hares will be bringing some bling back home to Rocky this year😜
Tomorrow is day 4, and is Summers last day of competition! A few more sprints to finish off another wonderful year!

Day 1 yesterday of the AusCycling Junior and Masters Track Championships. Ash was disappointed with her time for her IP for the 2000m, but the fact that she was ready to throw in the towel after last year, we are pretty stoked that she gave it another crack. Summer had a great time catching up with the girls, I’m sure this kid goes for the social aspect the sport brings sometimes😂
She gave it her all, and I love hearing her say ‘This is where I may have went wrong. I shouldn’t have got boxed in at that moment. I know to try this next time.’ Instead of throwing her helmet and gloves and telling us to jam it, she’s not riding anymore…. She’s maturing and accepting defeat with a bit more dignity and grace💕
