THRUSTER → QUAD: DOES IT ACTUALLY CHANGE MUCH?
I finally switched this board from thruster to quad.
And yeah… I felt a difference 😅
The quad felt faster, more connected and had way more hold through the bump.
Almost too glued to the wave at times.
But once the waves cleaned up, I loved it.
So for me:
Messy waves → maybe too much hold
Clean waves → quad all day
Thruster or quad? 👇

Father’s Day surf call 👀🌊
Saturday looks wild on both coasts with plenty of swell and stormy conditions.
Sunday is the one 👇
Seaford: around 3ft, light cross-shore
Middleton: around 3ft, light offshore and cleaner
If I was choosing for Father’s Day, I’d be watching Middleton Sunday morning 👀
Where are you surfing? Seaford or Middleton?
Save this and follow for the weekend surf call every Wednesday 🤙
One more wave… then I’ll go home. 🌅
We all know that’s a lie 😂
Apparently I need to start trusting my own surf report 😂
I had Seaford at around 1.5–2ft…
Then I looked at it and thought:
“Yeah nah, it’s probably flat.”
Turns out there were waves 😅
Good reminder for me too:
trust the data, then verify it at the beach.
Longboarding gets a lot easier when you stop stomping around on the board 😅
When I’m walking, I try to stay light on my feet and keep the board flowing.
Less heavy movement.
More glide.
More control.
Simple idea, big difference.

Missing waves? It’s probably not because you need to paddle harder 😅🌊
Position earlier. Turn sooner. Commit properly.
Most missed waves happen before the paddling even starts.
Tag the mate who keeps blaming the board 😂
I drove all the way down for this 🌊
And yes, I brought the midlength.
Why?
Because when the rips are moving and there’s a lot of paddling to do…
I’m choosing the board that makes my life easier 😂
Work smarter, not harder.
Would you take a midlength out here or still grab the shortboard? 👇
