Unfortunately our 2026 season has come to an end.

Friday nights semi final saw us go down to a strong Eels Rugby League Club outfit. We fell short of our objective this year but we are still proud of everyone that pulled on our jumper this season.

We’d like to thank and congratulate Teazy Thompson on an outstanding journey with the Warriors and wish him all the best in his retirement. You have been an amazing player for our club and we’re so grateful for everything you have contributed both on and off the field, a true competitor, but also a fantastic human.

I had to write this post, and Mel had to grab the photo, because Andrew is not someone who enjoys the attention that comes with awards.

Humility sits much more comfortably with him.

But this one deserves recognition.

As someone who works closely with Andrew and his team, in fact, I’m very proud to say I’m part of his team, I’ve seen first-hand the extent of his interest, generosity and, more importantly, his genuine participation in the community that has given him so many opportunities professionally.

He doesn’t just sponsor from the sidelines. He turns up, gets involved, supports the people and becomes part of the fabric of the community itself.

There is almost a self-imposed sense of indebtedness in the way Andrew gives back. And very often pays it forward.

Whether it’s his passion for footy, horse racing or wine, his respect for lawn bowls, or the support he gives to local schools, kindergartens, sporting clubs and community groups, Andrew contributes well beyond his professional capacity.

That is what makes this Top Community Relationship award so fitting.

It recognises something Andrew would probably rather not make a fuss about. The fact that he genuinely cares about the people and communities he serves.

Anyhow mate, even though you’d probably rather just have a beer and a chat, this one deserves a bit of applause.

Congratulations, Andrew. A very worthy award for a great bloke.
