Wellness treatments should complement a horse’s wider care program.

Therapies such as BEMER, Massage and other supportive options may be used to assist relaxation, recovery and general wellbeing. The most suitable choice depends on the horse, its workload and what we are trying to achieve.

We do not add treatments simply to fill a schedule. Each inclusion should have a clear reason and fit comfortably around the horse’s exercise and rest.

Want to know which options may suit your horse? Send us a DM and tell us a little about them.

Good rehabilitation rarely happens in isolation.

Veterinarians, therapists, farriers, trainers and owners may all contribute valuable information. When everyone understands the diagnosis, current stage and long-term goal, the horse receives clearer and more consistent support.

At Peringa Equine, we value communication and are happy to work alongside your existing team. The best plan is one that makes sense for the horse and can continue after it returns home.

Need a rehabilitation facility that will work with your horse’s team? DM us to discuss your requirements.

When a horse is returning from injury, more exercise is not always better. The right exercise, delivered at the right stage, is what matters.

Controlled treadmill sessions allow us to manage speed, duration and intensity while closely observing how the horse responds. As strength and fitness improve, the program can be adjusted in small, sensible steps.

This measured approach helps reduce guesswork and gives the horse time to adapt without being rushed.

If your horse needs a structured exercise program, send us a DM to discuss available options.

Water level makes a difference.

On the aqua treadmill, changing the depth of the water changes how the horse moves and how much effort is required. A carefully selected water level can encourage greater joint movement, support controlled strengthening and add resistance without simply increasing speed.

Every session should have a purpose. We adjust the program according to the horse, its stage of work and the outcome we are aiming for.

Curious about whether aqua treadmill work could suit your horse? DM us and we will be happy to help.

Fitness without unnecessary mileage

Building fitness does not have to mean endless kilometres under saddle.

Treadmill work can be a useful addition to a horse’s regular program, providing controlled exercise that can be measured and adjusted over time. It may assist horses coming back into work, those needing extra conditioning or performance horses requiring variety alongside their usual training.

Used thoughtfully, it gives us another way to build fitness while keeping the program interesting and purposeful.

DM Peringa Equine to ask about our tailored fitness options and current bookings.

A horse can be sound and still lack the strength, balance or confidence required to return to full work.

That space between recovery and performance is where structured rehabilitation plays an important role. We gradually rebuild condition, encourage more balanced movement and prepare the horse for the demands waiting at home.

The goal is not simply to complete a rehabilitation program. It is to send each horse home better prepared for the next stage.

Need help planning your horse’s return to work? DM the Peringa Equine team for more information.

👉Compensation can become a habit

When something hurts, horses find another way to move.

That altered pattern may protect an uncomfortable area at first, but it can also place extra strain elsewhere. Even after the original issue has improved, the horse may continue using the compensating movement it has learned.

Structured rehabilitation gives us the opportunity to rebuild strength and encourage better movement gradually. It takes patience, close observation and a program that develops with the horse.

If your horse is struggling to return to its usual way of going, DM us for a chat.
