Shellharbour FC Masters are now taking Expressions of Interest for the 2027 season for our Over 35s and Over 45s.

We’re looking for players in all positions and all experience levels. If you love your football, enjoy being part of a team and you’re a good bloke who wants to have a kick — we’d love to hear from you.

🧤 Goalkeepers especially welcome.
Seriously. If you own gloves and can bend down, we need to talk.

Selection criteria:
⚽ Over 35 or Over 45
⚽ Love your football
⚽ Team player
⚽ Own boots preferred
⚽ Two functioning hamstrings desirable, not essential
⚽ Occasionally answering the availability poll would be considered elite behaviour

💰 Payment packages can be negotiated in Snickers, Nurofen and strapping tape.

❤️🖤 HAPPY FATHER’S DAY | THE MASTER CLASS ❤️🖤
Today we put the football, missed sitters, dodgy hamstrings and questionable refereeing decisions aside for something a little more important.
From everyone at The Master Class and Shellharbour FC Masters, we’d like to wish all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, father figures and the great men who have stepped up for their families a very Happy Father’s Day.
To the dads who drove us to training, bought our first boots, stood on the sideline yelling “PASS IT!”, coached, volunteered, worked the BBQ and somehow always knew more than the referee — thank you.
And for those remembering a dad who is no longer with us, we hope today brings back plenty of great memories, stories and laughs. ❤️
Enjoy the day with your families, put your feet up, fire up the BBQ and have a b**r.
Just remember to click the BBQ tongs twice. It’s Australian law.
And whatever you do… don’t attempt an Over 35s comeback after three b**rs.

Just when Robbie, Pez and Muzza thought the hamstrings could be placed into long-term storage... Shellharbour FC has other plans. 😂
Summer Soccer is coming to Barrack Heights Sports Field from 6th October to 8th December, every Tuesday arvo/evening.
We’re running:
⚽ Open Men’s – Competitive & Social
⚽ Open Women’s – All abilities welcome
⚽ Under 18s Mixed – All abilities welcome
There’ll be a full competition including finals, subject to entries, along with weekly fixtures and a live competition ladder.
Get your mates together, build a team and enjoy your football throughout summer.
Competitive football if you want it.
Social football if your knees insist on it.
And before anyone asks, Masters match payments in Snickers, Nurofen and strapping tape do NOT carry over into Summer Soccer.
Disappointing.

Then came the longest twenty minutes of the season as everyone stood around refreshing their phones and negotiating directly with the football gods.

Slav secured the pig. Riste delivered in the kitchen. The pork neck and cevapi were outstanding.

It’s a big Saturday at Barrack Heights as Shellharbour FC welcomes Helensburgh Thistle for the round 21 of the IPL 1 season.

The Master Class boys, Robbie, Pez and Muzza, preview a full day of local football, plenty of food and what should be a great home atmosphere.

The canteen and BBQ will be firing with cevapi, pork neck, sausage sizzle, pies, sausage rolls, hot chips and plenty more, with drinks and refreshments available throughout the day.

7th place.
Three straight wins to finish.

Plenty of injuries, plenty of laughs, one broken pinky, one legendary BBQ, four goals from the Big Serb, the occasional appearance of an actual goalkeeper… and 19 rounds of trying to work out who this Zlate bloke actually is.

The ladder will show the results, but it won’t show the full story.

It won’t show the blokes who played injured because the team needed them, the makeshift keepers, the players filling unfamiliar positions, the families on the sideline, the BBQs, the b**rs, the missed sitters, ridiculous goals, questionable refereeing and all the laughs along the way.

That’s what Masters football is about.

The football matters, but so does everything around it.

A massive thank you to everyone who played, supported, organised, refereed, marked fields, brought food and drinks and helped make the 2026 season what it was.

And especially to our wives and families for putting up with another year of sore knees, dodgy hamstrings and football taking over the weekend.

The boots might be going away for now, but The Master Class isn’t finished yet.

Season review, presentation night and end of season celebrations are still to come.
