🏆Club Person of the Year – Megan Lynch 🏆

Congratulations, Megsy— a very deserving Club Person of the Year.

Megs has been there supporting our club right from the very beginning of the pre-season. Back in January, when we were just getting started with the Strava Challenge and weekly training at Bellerive, Meg was there helping out, getting involved and making sure things ran smoothly. She also happily pitched in with our BBQs and continued her support when formal training commenced in February at Pembroke.

Megan is someone who is always willing to put her hand up and help. She has volunteered at our Bunnings BBQ, assisted with Pink Ladies Day, attended numerous training nights and, often quietly working away behind the scenes, providing support to both our women's and men's teams.

This year, Megs took on the role of Team Manager for the men's team, a position she has embraced with the same care, commitment and dedication she shows to everything she does for our club.

What makes Megan so special is that she doesn't do these things for recognition. She simply sees something that needs doing and gets on with it. She has a genuinely caring heart and is always looking out for others, offering her time, encouragement and support whenever it is needed.

And, if you didn't already know, Megsy has another wonderful talent — she can knit the best woollen blankets! It is just another example of the warmth and care she brings to those around her.

Megan, we are very grateful for everything you have done for our club, our teams and our members throughout the year. Your contribution, commitment and caring nature have made a real difference 💖💙

🏆🏆 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 BEST & FAIREST WINNER — SASCHA WISE! 🏆🏆
We couldn’t be prouder of Sascha 👏👏

1st place with 32 votes! A huge lead over the rest.

Sascha is outstanding both on and off the field. Her commitment, leadership, dedication and passion for our club are second to none.

Not only is Sascha our 2026 Best & Fairest, she is also a valued member of our Club Committee, Women’s Committee, Club Delegate and Co-Captain.

She continually gives so much of herself to our club, leads by example and inspires those around her. Her contribution goes far beyond what happens on game day, and we are incredibly lucky to have her representing our club.

Sascha, you should be so proud of yourself — we certainly are! 💖💙

Thank You and what a fun day!

We might not have got to sing the team song after the game, but we certainly got to sing a very happy birthday song to Sascha Wise as she celebrated her birthday! 🎉

Firstly, a massive congratulations to Lindisfarne Women’s Masters Football 🥉🥉Huddo led her team incredibly well, and we had such a fantastic game of footy. It was a great contest and a wonderful day for women’s football. Thankyou Craig Hay & all of you for offering players all year when we have been short. It was great to play against you again.

To every single player in the Sorell Women’s Team…thank you. Some of you couldn’t play due to injury or children’s commitments, but you are every bit a part of this team and we appreciate each and every one of you.

We especially missed Leah Sallese, who joined us this year and has given so much to the club and team throughout the season.

And when we all saw Boggy driving in and giving us that big wave… that was pretty special. We missed her on field but great to have her 😁🤣 around the team.

Before the match our Captains Cherie Adams & Sascha Wise did an awesome warm up drill. Both Sascha & Cherie have worked well being Co-Captains this year. Thankyou for being outstanding players but also excellent leaders.

Kristy Mayne - a mini leader in the Forward line, her communication and direction was fantastic for some of us less confident players.

The sun ☀️☀️☀️ was shining for the match but the ground was still a bit wet and the ball a bit slippery to hold onto.

After the match, we had so many people to thank.

Our Team Manager, Rebecca Stewart — From all the fiddly changes and uploads in PlayHQ, organising uniforms, all the nbr changes and everything in between,Thank you, Bec!

Coach Tommy Stewart & Assistant Coach Kristy Baker — thank you both for your encouragement, your knowledge and for always being there for us. We know how much Bakes would have loved to have been out on the ground with us. Your support means so much.

Jamma and the Hobart Football Club Masters Women — thank you!!! Izzy Viljoen is in the best players, and Carolyn Flint, Annie Smalley, Mel Kirkby, Kelly Broughton, Emma MacDonald and Sarah Thomas, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you Jamma for Coaching us - we loved your inspiration and knowledge.

Letitia Johnson & Sommer Jeffrey — our Sorell players based up north! Sommer, what a fantastic goal 🏉 And Teesh… you really did play the best!

Lauren Chapple — another one of our best players, and also the very generous donor of our Number 1 raffle prize - $300 Frose Bar 🍸🍹Thank you, Loz, for everything you do — and for taking photos of the men as well!

Sascha then presented the Women’s Committee: Cherie Adams, Tania Johnson and Ange Sonners with our coaching staff and Team Manager, with gifts afterwards. If only you knew how much work they all do in the back ground 😅😅 but they love it too 💞

Suzy King also presented Sascha with a gift, acknowledging all the hard work she puts into our club and team, as well as her role as a committee member.

A massive congratulations to Mel G on her 250th game on the day!! What an incredible milestone. 👏 And of course, congratulations to Claremont & North Hobart on their 1 vs 2 clash, with Claremont taking the win.

A huge thank you to our President , Jason Freeman, and Vice President, Matt Kelly. You have always supported us and gone above and beyond. You give us so much of your time, listen to us, help us on game day.

And finally, thank you to all our volunteers who stayed around afterwards. Sascha stayed back on her birthday with us, Suzy King was there helping out, Joey Roy was busy on the gate, Cherie Adams, Tania Johnson, Kristy Baker, Megsy Lynch, Tommy Stewart and Jules Bannister wrapped all the gifts beautifully, and Janet Gatehouse and many more volunteers working away to make the day special.

The club was still celebrating late into the afternoon at Pembroke.

Congratulations to our Sorell men winning against Lauderdale 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆🥉 great game to watch - especially at half time 31-30 ..💛💙

Once we have all the raffle results, photos and everything else together, we’ll do another post.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Sorell Women this season 💖💙
