QLD WOMEN - SAVE THE DATE | NUDGEE GOLF CLUB

We’ve got something new coming to Queensland!

Following the fantastic response to our AWGN Fundamentals Series at Nudgee, we’re taking the next step and heading onto the course.

Sunday 8 November 2026 | Nudgee Golf Club

We’re currently finalising an afternoon that will include:

• Late lunch in the clubhouse
• Warm-up on the range
• 9 holes of Ambrose golf
• PGA Professionals providing on-course coaching
• Plenty of opportunity to connect with other women in the AWGN community

The Ambrose format will make this a relaxed and inclusive afternoon, whether you’re relatively new to golf or already playing regularly.

We’re planning a maximum field of just 24 women, so places will be limited when registrations open.

A big thank you to our wonderful QLD Ambassadors Shine and Samantha Robertson, who have been helping us grow the AWGN community in Queensland and will be part of what promises to be a fantastic afternoon at Nudgee.

WHAT KEEPS WOMEN IN GOLF?

Earlier this week we asked our Facebook community what made them stay in the game.

The answers came back to the same things again and again: welcoming clubs, great coaches, social golf without pressure, visible progress and, most importantly, friendships.

Heather spoke about being able to learn and play socially without pressure.

Anne said, “Joining a welcoming club. All the rest falls into place after that.”

Barb highlighted the value of a great coach and seeing progress.

Karen talked about finding a welcoming club, making friendships and keeping fit.

And several of our members all reminded us just how important those friendships can become, from regular playing partners to golf travel buddies.

For us, that says something important.

Growing women’s golf is not only about encouraging more women to try the game. It is about creating the environments and relationships that make them want to stay.

Just come along, hit some balls, learn a few basics and meet other women in a fun, welcoming environment.
