Message from Manolis.....
Dont forget this Sunday's Meet and Greet, its been a while since we had a get together the weather has not been working in our favor, but we have been having some glorious days of late.
This Sunday, come along if you want to get a social in, meet new water buddies, learn about Marine Life, find out how to read Seaway Conditions.
If you are snorkeler then we can buddy you up, and off you go exploring some of the over 1000 species of Marine Life in the Seaway.
Scuba Divers, come along and lets you buddy you up as well and get you in the water.
In my Opinion the Seaway is one of the Worlds Best Shore Accessible Snorkel and Dive Sites, and If you come along on Sunday I will explain why !!!
Also on Sunday I will explain more about our final trip of the year - Glorious Great Barrier Reef - 9th to 13th October 2026 this is your chance to enjoy the Great Barrier Reef, the GCDS Way - some of members have been on this trip 5 times - its that good ! You are all invited.
Its been a massive year of travel, BALI, Vanuatu, FIJI, and the final fling in the Great Barrier Reef.
I do need some help with Volunteers for Sunday's Meet and Greet, so if you can assist with Paperwork, Surface Watch, Guiding Snorkelers or Divers, or helping staff the First Aid Tent then this would be appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday for the Meet and Greet !

SEAWAY VIZ REPORT
The Seaway a beautiful Blue at the moment, is looking great for snorkeling and diving and we do expect that the conditions will continue for another week at least.
Winds are blowing southerlies at less than 20 knots and this will keep conditions on the improve.
We do have the possibility of rain over the next few days, but this wont affect the water quality.
High tides are mid morning at around 1.3 metres, and the water temperature at the surface has dropped below 21 degrees and has been measured at 19 degrees at depth.
Swells are behaving and should be less than 1.5 metre over the next few days.
Plenty of Rays throughout the Seaway at the moment and an abundance of flathead have been observed.
We suggest that Seaway Snorkeling and Diving will be rewarding over the next few days.
Always Dive with a buddy and check conditions before entering the water.

Seaway Conditions Report
The Conditions in the Seaway have been crystal clear however with the massive swells offshore we will start to see a deteoriation of clarity.
Winds are currently Southerlies which works in our favor, however they will be shifting to westerlies in a few days this will bring more particles into the Seaway.
We do have the possibility of a sprinkling of rain over the next few days but not enough to affect the conditions,
High tides are currently late afternoon at about 1.7 metres and this will affect safe entries and exits into the Seaway.
Water temperature at the surface has dropped below 21 degrees at the surface and has been measured at 19 degrees at depth.
Offshore swells have been peaking at over 2 metres and this will complicate offshore diving.
We suggest that Seaway Snorkeling and Diving will not be an option due to the late afternoon tides.
Fevers of Rays have been seen all over the Seaway in the last week.
Always Dive with a buddy and check conditions before entering the water.
