Do you love to swim in the ocean? Or maybe you love to build sandcastles on the sand? We all know that the beach is a very fun place to play, explore and have adventures. But, having lots of fun at the beach also means making sure that we do the right things to keep ourselves, our friends and our family safe... that's what we teach you at Alex Surf Club! 💚

I can't wait to get back down the the beach every weekend and train hard with our club! Do you think we will win even more medals at Aussies in 2023? 🏆

Congratulations on achieving Australian champion in the 800m & 1500m and second to only the world record holder as the second fastest Australian of all time in the 400m. Congratulations again on your qualification for the World Championships & Commonwealth games. 🎉

☀️ Ask a lifeguard for safety advice⁠
👀 Supervise children on, in and around water ⁠
🏖️ Wear a lifejacket when boating, rock fishing or on watercraft

Last on my surf safety checklist is...⁠
🙋 If you need help, stay calm and attract attention. Even the most careful people can find themselves out of their limits in the water. If you are not feeling comfortable in the water and you require a lifeguard’s assistance to get back to shore, stay calm, raise your arm in the air and wave it from side to side.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Swim with a friend! Not only is swimming with a friend a fun way to enjoy the beach, it is also very sensible. While you’re swimming together you can keep an eye out for each other, and if further assistance is required, one person could call or go for help. If you need a friend, I'll see you at Alex Beach soon!
