👣 My roots? Born in New Zealand to a Māori family, I grew up with a culture that shapes every part of me. At 7, I watched my family face domestic violence, and by 9, I faced an experience that took years to speak about. And when a close friend almost lost his life, I spiraled even further, numbing myself with anything I could find – from alcohol to work to… you name it. But beneath it all, I felt empty, chasing freedom but finding chaos instead.
💡 My turning point? Meeting my wife. She held a mirror up to me, refusing to let me keep hiding from myself. She challenged me to do the inner work or lose it all. I finally found support in men’s work, which was the first real step to truly healing. Since then, I’ve broken free from people-pleasing, released my anger in healthy ways, and stepped into my purpose. Today, I lead men through the Mindfit Gym – a space to build their foundation as leaders, partners, and fathers. Here’s a glimpse of my life now:
