Is your little one waking often overnight?
Here’s what you can do!
1. Check your babies awake windows are suitable for their age
2. Create an environment conducive to sleep- cool and dark!
3. A consistent nap/ bedtime routine to cue to your baby that sleep is coming
4. 2.5-4 hourly milk feeds during the day to ensure babies calorie intake is being consumed during the day instead of excessively overnight.
5. Help baby learn to fall asleep independently as this skill is key in having your little one nap well and consolidate their night sleep.
💫October bookings are available if you would like to work with me one on one. X

Cot to big bed~
If possible I suggest keeping your little one in their cot until 3 years old.
Why?
Under the age of 3 your toddler is not old enough to have the impulse control to stay in their own bed, so by keeping them in their cot it removes the ability and temptation for your little one to get out of bed constantly.
Often we see the transition happen too early and sleep falls apart. 🙈
If you have a little climber on your hands try dressing your child in a sleeping bag for bed to stop them climbing out. If they are already in a sleeping bag and can unzip themselves I suggest putting it on backwards or popping a light T-shirt over the top.
Please comment any questions below!

When do I drop the 3rd nap?
This happens anywhere between 7-9 months old. Signs your bub is ready to drop the 3rd nap:
- Taking ages to fall asleep when you offer the 3rd nap.
- Having the 3rd nap but then fighting bedtime and taking longer than usual to fall asleep.
- Completely refuses the 3rd nap
How to drop it?
Babies awake window will now be 3.5-4hrs from end of 2nd nap until bedtime. It could take bub a few days to adjust to the larger awake window so an earlier bedtime to begin with will help. 🌙✨

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been so MIA on here...I have been one busy lady! 😍Business has picked up a lot over the past month with parents being stuck in ISO all over the world so now has been the perfect time to tackle any sleep issues going on! I wanted to touch a little on what to do when your bub is learning all those fun new skills like pulling themselves up,crawling, walking etc. Your little one is using ALOT of energy to practise this new skill and this can begin to cause a little disruption when it comes to sleep time.Baby is going to get tired quicker during this phase and will benefit from having a shorter awake window by about 15mins to help catch them before they become overtired and allow a little extra time to wind down before falling asleep 🥰

What is a negative sleep association/prop?
A sleep association is anything your baby uses to fall asleep and to stay asleep/resettle. So if they need someone to come in to replace/resettle using those same things you know it is a negative sleep association. It only becomes negative when it no longer becomes sustainable, for instance baby isn’t sleeping for long, your exhausted, baby is unhappy due to not getting enough sleep and its starting to affect your everyday life. Most common ones are:
Dummy, Feed to sleep, Rock to sleep, pat to sleep, hold hands to sleep, bounce to sleep.
However your child is falling asleep is how they want to be resettled. Say you baby is currently falling asleep with you rocking them, as they transition between sleep cycles your little one is naturally going to wake up looking for you to come back and rock them again to fall back to sleep resulting in cat napping and frequent night waking. When sleep training we remove these sleep props and gently teach your bub how to self-settle so they are able to fall asleep and stay asleep independently which is such an important skill that they will then have for life! ✨
