A few years ago I was having a conversation with a friend about self confidence.

I told her I didn't think I was particularly confident. Her response surprised me.

She said, "You talk about yourself like you're someone you actually like."

That conversation stuck with me.

The truth is, I wasn't born loving myself. I spent years being my own biggest critic. Picking apart my appearance, my mistakes, and all the things I thought I should be doing better.

What changed wasn't some magical boost in confidence.

I started doing two simple things:

✨ Saying three nice things about myself every day.
✨ Catching negative self talk and challenging it.

At first it felt ridiculous.

But eventually I realised something important.

You can't spend years telling yourself you're not good enough and expect to feel confident.

The way you speak to yourself matters.

If you wouldn't say it to a friend, why are you saying it to yourself?

Confidence isn't believing you're perfect.

It's knowing you're worthy of kindness, especially from yourself.

I live with a rare leg condition that comes with chronic pain, surgeries and long recovery periods.
And it is the reason I train people the way I do.

Some days your body is ready to push.
Some days it is not.
Both are normal.

At Glacier Fitness, you get to decide how hard you work on any given day.
Because showing up with twenty percent effort is still effort.
And it is always better than not showing up at all.

I will never shame someone for missing a session. We are adults. Life, pain, stress and exhaustion are real.
And interestingly, when people feel trusted instead of pressured, they show up more consistently over time.

This is how sustainable training is built.
