Never underestimate the power of a quick message.
Just a simple hello, I’m thinking of you or Sending love.
Those few words can completely change a person’s day.
It happened to me only a few days ago.
Life had gotten busy (as it does), and time had quietly stretched out between us. Then a simple message came through to me - thinking of you, missing you - from a friend who has moved across Australia.
It brightened my whole day. We exchanged a few quick messages after, and it felt so good to connect.
It was proof to me that Connection doesn’t have to be big to matter.
Try connecting with someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Just a quick message to show you are thinking of them. It’s certain to brighten their day.

Discover how decluttering, holistic health & mindfulness can create harmony in your home & mind. As a mum of three boys I understand the daily pressures of how hectic and stressful a day in the life of a mum can be. Homework, sporting activities, household chores and that never ending "TO DO" list. Because of this my main focus is on creating time for busy mums, however I also understand that most
I often hear these words.
Why did I throw that out? Can you believe I actually need that now?
I’ve even said it myself!
The truth is, when we let something go, it was for a reason.
Maybe at the time it didn’t fit, or it hadn’t been used for years. When we declutter we make decisions based on the season you’re currently in.
In fact, the tiny fraction of items you realised you might have used is so small compared to the things you didn’t need.
The space you cleared had value. Remember how that made you feel. You were creating space that mattered.
If you do feel true regret, ask yourself:
How often you truly used it.
Could you borrow it instead of re-purchase it?
If you replaced it, would it actually serve you better now?
A tip you may use in the future if you’re worried about decluttering something, is to put it in a box and store it for a maximum of 30 days. This “cooling off” period lets you be certain the item truly can go.
The 10-10 rule is a well known decluttering technique, it’s setting a timer and removing 10 items in 10 minutes. It works because it removes overwhelm and gives your brain a clear start and a clear finish.
But I’ve been thinking about something different. A way to calm both our homes and our minds.
What if we spent just 4 minutes on each pillar of H.O.M.E?
4 minutes of stretching or breathing. 4 minutes clearing just one surface. 4 minutes being fully present. 4 minutes connecting with someone.
Just 16 minutes a day - together or spread throughout the day.
Small intentional actions like this makes our brain feel safe, not overwhelmed, and it reduces our decision making fatigue. By doing this 4-4 method, you’re doing something that feels manageable which makes you far more likely to repeat it.
Just 16 minutes can build momentum, which over time can create a calmer home and a calmer mind.

It was a long time coming… our 25+ year old bathroom and ensuite (affectionately known as our Thredbo bathrooms), finally got their make-over and we couldn’t be happier!
With 4 males in my home - I’ve officially designated the ensuite “a boy free zone”! 🤣
We’ve intentionally kept decorating minimal. The less things there are, the easier it is to clean.

It’s amazing how a micro declutter can make your home and mind feel. Just 30 seconds to a minute. Choose a space that needs a quick tidy - your hall table, bedside table or vanity. A small action in a busy day that offers calm inside and out. .O.M.E #

Have you ever noticed that ust one tiny shift in your home can make life feel a bit lighter? It’s taking 5 minutes to wash the dishes after dinner - so your mornings start fresh, picking up those clothes on the floor, or unpacking your suitcase that you came home with a week ago. I’ve been doing a lot of work on my H.O.M.E. philosophy again lately and I’m excited to start sharing again — practical things that actually work in our often hectic lives.
Small changes. Gentle intention. A home that holds you, not stresses you.
A home created with intention should feel like a place to land, not another thing on the to-do list.
Welcome H.O.M.E.
