Congratulations to Darren Smith & other recipients.

IMC is pleased to announce the IMC Players of the Year for 2025

* Over-40s - Mark Cleary (Australia)
* Over-50s - Ali Bukhari (Wales)
* Over-60s - Darren Smith (Australia)
* Over-70s - (No PoTY was considered for the over-70s category due to the low number of games played in 2025.)

In the over-40s category, Mark Cleary took 26 wickets in 10 international matches in 2025 - all T20s - at an amazing average of 9.69. He was the clear standout player at the IMC T20 O40s World Cup, where he took at least 2 wickets in every game, including 5/22 in the final as Australia stunned pre-tournament favourites Pakistan to win the title.

Wales' Ali Bukhari was Player of the Tournament at the IMC Over-50s World Cup and ended the year with 27 wickets in O50Is at 14.40 and 298 runs at 29.8. Among his outstanding efforts were an astonishing 107 vs India off just 49 balls, and rapid spells against USA, West Indies and South Africa in particular. Bukhari is currently ranked #1 in the IMC Over-50s World Player Rankings.

In the O60s arena, Darren Smith played 8 O60Is in 2025, scoring 352 runs at 58.66 and taking 16 wickets at 12.25. He had a relatively quiet series against New Zealand (68 runs at 34 and 1 wicket for 27 runs) but put on a show against a strong England side during the northern summer. In consecutive matches he had scores of 8, 107*, 61 and 97, as well as bowling analyses of 1/20, 4/27, 4/29 and 4/53.

Congratulations to all three players!

On 27th October 2025 Ken Gilson scored an amazing 102 n.o. off just 42 balls. The first century recorded in a Port Jackson game. Here he is receiving the scoresheet framed for posterity from Port Jackson 070 Vice Chairman John Parker at Waterboard Oval Toronto on the 4th March 2026.

The O55 Mens State Regional Championships were recently completed in Tamworth and in what can only be described as outstanding success the PJ Reds have won the Div 1 Warwick Hayes Cup and the PJ Whites have won the Div 2 Adrian Schwager Shield. And in incredibly moving scenes the family of Adrian (Schwags) were on hand to present the trophies to both teams. This combined with the tragedy of losing the great supporter of Cricket NSW Masters John (JJ) Jewiss and there was fitting tributes and respect shown by all teams for both these great men of Masters cricket.

We would like to give a shout out on behalf of Port Jackson Cricket Club Committee for the outstanding efforts made by the volunteers that made the tournament possible. The rain gods gave us all a surprise on the eve of the first day but every game in the tournament was completed in full.

The volunteer of note was Neil Brodie. Neil organised the lunches and the scheduling and worked closely with all of the ground managers, as well as undertaking ground manager duties himself. Neil also organised the venue for the Capt & Mgrs meeting and the subsequently cancelled Dinner.

Also special mention should go to Tim Jones, who was diligent in ensuring all fixtures, scores were updated in a timely fashion by all 12 teams.

The volunteers that undertook ground manager duties and volunteered to put covers down on the Monday were:

Wayne Rueben
Steve Jones
John Jackson
Geoff Orme
Greg McLeay
Frank Baliotis
John Carey
David Craig
Mangala Siriwardena
Douglas Latto
Simon Lyon
Mark Williams

Volunteers to cover the grounds in Riverwood and North Curl Curl (even though North Curl Curl ended up not being needed):

Angus Kingsmill
Jeff Loomes
John Jackson
Jude Perera
Ken Gilson
Mark Williams
Rowan Harry
Steve Lucas
Tim Jones
Alan Wilmore
Andy Price
Ben Easaw
Frank Baliotis
David Massey
David Trewin
John Parker
Maurice Ford
Vince Ungvary

Thanks also to the Organising Committee that included Douglas Latto, Ian Pryde, John Parker, Guy Kingsmill, Rob Burns and the Selection Committee of Peter O'Reilly, Mark Wilson and Stuart Ridge.

I am bound to have missed someone and for that I apologise. Some also have a further gig to do at the end of February for the o60s and work will now start for that one.

It makes us feel that the Club is run the right way and is run for players by the players.

Thanks Again. Paul

- Division 2 played at Bland/Hutchinson Ovals in Riverwood
- Division 3 played at Frank Gray/Mike Pawley Ovals in North Curl Curl.

The tournament is reliant on a large number of non-playing volunteers that have put their hands up to ensure it all runs as smooth as possible. The PJs organising Committee thanks them all for their help.

Congratulations to the following selected players - go well gentlemen and extend a warm welcome to our regional friends!
