Sutherland Shire - Pool Failures

An article in the St George & Sutherland Shire Leader on 14th January 2015 confirms that MORE than 90 per cent of swimming pool fences checked by Sutherland Shire Council compliance officers under new child safety laws failed their first inspection.

A majority of pools require between two and four additional inspections before they are deemed compliant.

According to the article, Sutherland Shire Council fears it will be swamped by requests for inspections this year and that Councils still face a potential surge of applications.
