The skill of metal fabrication is something I’ve grown to appreciate since starting this build, especially when I even tried my own hand at it trying to fit the new seat I bought.
Peter from makes everything look so easy and seamless when he works on my R34. I’m glad to have him on the team, helping me with this build and making it possible!

Ever seen someone cut a hole in the firewall of a Skyline? Over the next few days I’ll post some videos that explain why I did this firewall modification.

R34 Skyline’ın yangın duvarına (firewall) delik açan birini hiç gördün mü?
Birkaç gün içinde, bu firewall modifikasyonunu neden yaptığımı açıklayan videolar paylaşacağım.

Why would someone do something as crazy as this?! 🫣
That’s something I would’ve said many years ago yet here we are! There are many reasons and benefits to this…..plus additional headaches but let me break down the main two.
1. Better weight distribution. The engine and gearbox, especially when on OEM material and NOT billet like mine are heavy. ‘A big lump of weight’ as my fabricator Peter would say. So by moving them further rearward - to the center of the car and lowering them slightly helps improve the center of gravity.
2. More roll in the front - Moving the engine back allows more room in the front for larger cooling components (intercooler, radiator and oil cooler) plus the ability to angle them which can allow for more efficient air flow especially when married with a well designed air duct/ram which channels the air from the front bar, though the cooling components and out the top of the bonnet.
Yes, more work in general in the building of this car will be required and inherently more money to be spent, though I’ve come this far so I might as well do what I can to increase the performance and clarinet if this car.
Plus a little question I like to ask myself when I’m in doubt myself if others questioning my ability or ambitions & aspirations is….why the f*** not?
Anyway thank you to those who have read this far. I appreciate you and look forward to sharing more about this build and my overall journey!

About 3 months ago, I took a risk and decided to push the engine and gearbox 110mm rearward in the car.
Why?
For better weight distribution and allow more room in the front of the car for air ducting. This process also created a lot more work for other parts of the build.
Big shoutout to Peter from for all the help on the fabrication side of this build. Couldn’t have made it this far without him, and I’m pumped to keep working together as we dive into the next stages.
However as the famous quote goes (IDK if it’s actually famous) To gain something, you have to lose something.
I’ll post more details from the process bit by bit over the coming weeks
