The company is formed with the object of advancing the awareness of and best practice in investor relations in Australasia and thereby improving the relationship between listed entities and the investment community in one or more of the following ways:

- To position itself as the peak body for investor relations professionals;
- Foster best practice and enhance ethical and professional standards in investor relations;
- Extensive dedicated investor relations professional development and training programmes for members;
- Develop strategic relationships with other industries and related entities;
- Act as a united voice for the investor relations community.
