🏁 Join us this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park to witness Evan Farrall's Formula 5000 debut and enjoy a packed weekend of historic racing action!

With regular driver Rob Splatt a late withdrawal from the Sydney Classic, Evan has been handed the opportunity to race Rob's mighty March 73A Formula 5000.

Evan impressed in his first taste of the car at Phillip Island earlier this year, but a mechanical issue cruelly denied him a race start. Now he gets another shot, and this time it's in front of the Sydney Classic crowd.

A front-running competitor in Historic Formula Ford, Evan is no stranger to speed, but stepping into a 500-horsepower Formula 5000 is a whole new challenge. 🔥

We'll be watching with interest as one of historic motorsport's rising stars takes on one of its most spectacular categories.

🇬🇧 MG Racing returns to Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend!

One of the headline categories of the HSRCA Sydney Classic, MG Racing brings together a wonderfully eclectic mix of classic British machinery. From iconic MGBs and Midgets to modern MGFs, TFs and ZTs, plus Triumphs, Austin Healeys and other invited British favourites, this grid delivers close, competitive racing and plenty of character.

Expect hard-fought battles, great sportsmanship and some of the most entertaining racing of the weekend.

🏁 Matt Veal is set to race one of the rarest cars in Australian Formula 5000 history at the Sydney Classic this weekend… the one and only Mildren Chev.

Originally conceived in the UK during the late 1960s by Frank Gardner and Len Bailey, the car was brought to Australia by Alec Mildren and raced in period by Kevin Bartlett during the golden Tasman era. It competed in the 1970 Australian Grand Prix, qualifying an impressive fifth before retiring mid-race with electrical issues.

After later disappearing from the motorsport scene for decades, the car was painstakingly restored and returned to competition 🏆🏆

Matt’s own racing background spans production cars, Formula Vee, Super Vee, Formula 2 and historic Formula Ford, but Formula 5000 is his newest challenge after making his category debut earlier this year.

🏁 This Lola T330 was purchased new by future Formula 1 World Champion (1979) Jody Scheckter, who raced it to victory in the US L&M Formula 5000 series in 1973.

Geoff Walters will bring the spectacular Lola to compete in the Formula 5000 grid at the 2026 HSRCA Sydney Classic next weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park. Geoff rebuilt the car to the exact same specification and livery raced by Scheckter.

A veteran of Formula Ford since the 1980s, Geoff has quickly become one of the front runners in historic F5000 competition, collecting multiple race wins and strong recent results.

This is shaping up to be a VERY loud weekend 🔥🏁 Come along and enjoy the noise!

Big day ahead tomorrow at One Raceway 🏁 as Mackenzie Pollard takes another exciting step in her motorsport journey. After being selected from a hugely impressive field of applicants earlier this year, she'll have her first on-track training experience in a Formula Vee under our Young Women in Motorsport Program 🏆

A big thanks to Racer Industries for sponsoring the program with a race suit for Mackenzie! We will post some pics 📸

A successful karter, Mechanical Engineering student and fresh from supporting an all-female class-winning team at the Bathurst 6 Hour, she’s already proven she has plenty of determination and passion for the sport. Tomorrow, she adds historic racing to the mix 🔥

We can’t wait to see Mackenzie officially begin this exciting journey with the HSRCA.

🏁This Elfin MR8 with its iconic Ansett Australia livery is set to feature at the Sydney Classic raced by current owner Bill Hemming.

Bill owns and operates the Elfin Heritage Centre in Victoria and has spent years preserving the legacy of legendary Australian champion and race car constructor Garrie Cooper.

This particular MR8 was originally built for Vern Schuppan, who drove the car in three Formula 5000 races in 1977, claiming pole position and finishing 2nd outright at Sandown.

The car later competed in Can-Am racing in the USA before eventually returning to Australia, where it continues its life in historic competition.

A stunning piece of Australian motorsport history… with 5 litres of Chevrolet fury mounted behind the driver. 🏆🔥

🏁 Group N is bringing the thunder to the 2026 HSRCA Sydney Classic at Sydney Motorsport Park over the King’s Birthday long weekend. Expect grids packed with the kind of touring cars that smell faintly of Castrol, hot brakes and Bathurst glory days. Falcons, Torana's, Monaro's and Mustangs will be out in force.

Not every hero in Group N has a V8 though. Watch out for the the pocket-rocket Minis, screaming Alfa Romeos and tough-as-teak Volvos taking the fight to the muscle cars.

It’s the golden era of touring car racing in one paddock, with every shape, size and engine note imaginable battling it out wheel-to-wheel. Big body roll. Tiny margins. Absolute crowd magnets.🏁🔥

Spectators can wander through the paddock, get up close to the cars and chat with the people who keep these historic machines alive and racing. It’s history at full noise, not hidden behind ropes.

One of the younger stars of historic Formula 5000, Tim Berryman returns to the Sydney Classic in the ex-Theodore Racing Lola T332 🏁

Tim made an unforgettable F5000 debut at Phillip Island in 2016, taking a race win against some of the category’s most established names.

The car itself carries remarkable history, including connections to Theodore Racing and Alan Jones’ dramatic charge at the 1977 Australian Grand Prix at Oran Park.

This machine looks spectacular standing still. At full noise? Even better 🔥
