We wore purple in this week's WIP meeting in support of Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Month. 💜
This year's theme is Better Beginnings for Brighter Futures, spotlighting the cost of delayed diagnosis. Here are some facts about Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) that you may not know:
1 in 3 people with IBD have symptoms for over a year before receiving a diagnosis. It takes more than 5 years for over 10% of patients to be diagnosed, and over 5 years for nearly 50% to experience remission.
Holly, our Marketing Coordinator, feels lucky to have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in her teens. "It was such a relief to have a name for it after over a year of anxiety over my health. There's so much shame and isolation associated with an invisible illness; I missed out on a lot. But, I know that my journey was much smoother than most."

💭We had a marvellous time hosting RETHINK Wellington 2026 on Thursday, 5 March at the fabulous Wharewaka Function Centre on the harbour foreshore.💭
It was great to connect with so many Aotearoa fundraising champions and feel the collaborative energy that comes with sharing new insights and fresh perspectives in the room. We caught up with a few familiar faces and made lots of new fundraising friends as well! Many attendees told us they left feeling energised, connected and full of ideas to take back to work.
