University of Sydney Roller Derby League (USRDL). Follow us for updates on intake, training, games an Proudly fluid and dynamic! Supported by the USU
We are a fun and inclusive recreational league passionate about teaching, playing derby and anything rollerskate related! We run a weekly Learn to Skate program each semester aimed at complete beginners as well as weekly Advanced/Learn to Derby classes, aimed at skaters who have mastered all our beginner skills and are looking to learn some more advanced skills or progress to casual or competitive
roller derby! Despite being a university league, anyone is able to attend our trainings regardless of age, gender or whether you're studying. We are proudly an LGBTIQ safe space and inclusive of all genders, sexualities, races and religions, with a strict anti-discrimination policy. Our membership is only $5 and all sessions are paid per session (though you can also pay in advance so you don't have to remember each week!). We also offer skate and gear hire for $2 per session, so all you need to bring is a helmet and a water bottle, though you are also welcome to bring your own gear if you have it already! For more info and updates on our program please message our page. Once you've attended an intake session and decided you want to join in on the fun, we can add you to our members group! If you are already an experienced skater who has passed WFTDA White Star/Minimum Skills or has equivalent experience, please message us to chat about your skating experience as you may be able to progress straight to our Advanced/Learn to Derby sessions. Stay tuned to this page for updates on our Learn to Skate intake sessions (run twice per semester, usually in Feb and August) and other fun events!
