🔥 SECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥

We are excited to announce that the 2026 NSWRL presented by Campbelltown Hobbies and RPM Hobbies has expanded to include Canberra Off Road Model Car Club!

When: August 1st and 2nd

Make whatever joke you want about the ACT not being NSW (or a real state for that matter), but we are calling this the unofficial Nats warm-up as they will be hosting the nationals at the start of October, only 8 weeks after the NSWRL round.

As with all NSWRL events, tyres will be open and our unique racing format will be in place. Saturday is open practise and Sunday is race day!

We hope to see you all there!

Entries will open soon, so keep an eye out for the post!

With our 4th round of the 2026 NSWRL presented by Campbelltown Hobbies and RPM Hobbies taking place this weekend, we figured it was time to do an update on the points standings of the championship classes!

Before we do though, be sure to tune into our socials tomorrow night, as we have a special announcement! We can't give any hints, but we are excited to bring the new to you guys 👀

Back to the important stuff!

The current totals are based on the best 2 of 3 rounds so far. Remember there is dropped rounds this season and regional events are 1.5x the points.

2wd Junior is dominated by Mason Crompton, having done all three and cleaning up at Orange with out bonus points. Liam Brennan not far behind but has a nice gap over Jacob Hickey in 3rd due to the extra points from orange.

2wd Modified is being dominated by Peter Seckold after his clean sweep at Orange, securing maximum points with the regional bonus points making a difference at the top of the table. Current Australian Champ Lachlan Donnelly is 2nd after two near perfect rounds to open the series. Sean Tilley proving consistency is key, holding down 3rd place.

2wd Stock has been an up and down affair, but currently is it Scott Hill out front with a small gap over James Spence. Nathaniel White rounding out the top three currently, only a handful of points behind.

4wd Modified is again Peter Seckold out front after his near perfect performance in Orange. Logan Rintoul having a cracking round 2 taking 2nd overall and backing that up with another 2nd place at Orange is currently 2nd. with Sean Tilley rounding out the top three.

4wd Stock is tight at the top with Russell Mallise holding a narrow lead over Scott Hill thanks to his win at Orange. Scott Hill has been solid all series and is hot on his heels, looking to score more points at Batemans Bay this weekend. Lachlan Williams is 3rd after taking victories in round 1 and 2 of the series.

Be sure to tag your mates, and let them know how slow they are! we are only half way through the season, so there is plenty of time for movement.

Entries for the Bay are still open, so don't miss out!

Before we get to race week, lets recap the previous round of the NSWRL at Orange Radio Control Car Club (ORCCC)!

Orange delivered an amazing track for their second time hosting NSWRL. The team did an amazing job to prepare and fix a couple of jumps that were a challenge last year!

Let’s start with the most important class… Junior!

2wd Junior

It was only a small field of drivers attending this year’s round at Orange, but none the less, they certainly showed some amazing talent! Unfortunately, a timing error on race day was not picked up, and the TQ trophy was incorrectly awarded, however we will rectify this in due course. Overall, it was Mason Crompton taking TQ with a 48.622 ahead of Liam Brennan with a 58.451 and Xavier Orr not recording a time. In A1 it was Mason taking the win over Liam and Xavier. A2 saw Liam take the win over Mason and Xavier. A3 saw Mason take the win ahead of Liam and Xavier. Overall, it would be Mason Crompton 1st, Liam Brennan 2nd and Xavier Orr in 3rd.

2wd Stock

We saw a number of our junior drivers in the mix during race day, which is absolutely amazing to see! Scott Hill would take the TQ honours for this one with a time of 39.046. in 2nd was one of our junior drivers Callan Rockall with his time of 39.787. and 3rd was James Spence with a 40.350 edging out Zachery Davidson with a 40.396. Callan Rockall would come out swinging taking A1 ahead of Zac Davidson and James Spence. A2 saw James Spence take the win ahead of Scott Hill and Callan Rockall. The decider in A3 saw James Spence, Scott Hill and Zac round out our running order. Overall, it would be James Spence 1st, Scott Hill 2nd and Zachery Davidson 3rd.

2wd Modified

Relative newcomer to Modified racing, Logan Rintoul showed some pace early in the day in 2wd Modified. He would take TQ with a 36.810 edging out Peter Seckold by 0.05 seconds with his time being 36.860 and Sean Tilley taking 3rd with a 38.089. A1 saw Peter Seckold take the win by nearly two Laps over Blair Wallace 2nd and Sean Tilley 3rd. A2 saw Seckold take the win by about a lap over Logan in 2nd and Blair taking 3rd. A3 saw Seckold take the win again, with Sean taking 2nd and Logan taking 3rd with less than a second between them. Overall, it would be Peter Seckold 1st, Blair Walace 2nd and Logan Rintoul in 3rd.

4wd Stock

It was a similar story to 2wd stock, with Scott Hill taking TQ ahead with a 36.790 ahead of James Spence with a 37.013 and Callan Rockall with a 37.033 rounding out the top 3. There was less then two tenths of a second separating 2nd to 5th on the grid. In A1 the finishing order was James Spence 1st, Finn Aiken 2nd and Scott Hill 3rd. A2 was Russell Mallise from RPM hobbies taking 1st, with Chris Burke 2nd and James Spence 3rd. A1 saw Seckold take a comfortable win over Tilley in 2nd and Rintoul in 3rd. A2 saw the closest race of the event, with Seckold making a last corner pass to take the win over Logan by less than 3 tenths of a second with Sean further behind in 3rd. In A3, Seckold took another comfortable win ahead of Rintoul and Tilley. Overall, the order would be Peter Seckold 1st, Logan Rintoul 2nd and Sean Tilley 3rd.

Remember this event is 1.5x points being a regional round! So make sure to capitalize on the extra points on offer.

The Batemans Bay Radio Control Club Inc crew are making some tweaks to the layout to suit our event!

Let's hear what the club has to say:

"The boys are putting in work behind the scenes to get this layout dialled for the upcoming round 👊

Current plan is to keep the flow but clean things up:
• Leaving the double out of the corner for speed and consistency
• Trimming the top down into a smoother single for better rhythm
• Matching the next single so it’s more squared off and predictable
• Squaring up the final section and rebuilding the down ramp that’s been breaking up

The goal? Faster laps, cleaner racing, and a track that rewards precision 💯"

Cannot wait to get there!

Kept an eye open for more updates!
