Ignite Your Passion. Grow Your Influence. Amplify the Impact you have in the World. Being a leader is an extraordinary opportunity to make a difference.

Despite rapid advances in technology, new hybrid ways of working and millions spent on systems, structures and process improvements, 95% of leaders report burnout is sabotaging the workforce; 87% of employees are disengaged, unhappy and lacking meaning and while 77% of leaders believe they "inspire action", 82% are seen as lacking in leadership skills. Hi, I'm Kylee Stone - Presenter of The Emergi

Great leadership is not about performance.

It’s about purpose.

It’s about who we are, what we stand for and the legacy we leave behind.

That’s one of the reasons has long been someone I admire and reference in my work.

In my leadership retreats, I invite women to reflect on her words:

“There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made.”

For me, these words are a powerful reminder that leadership is not about playing small.

It’s about having the courage to use your voice, stand for what matters and shape a better future for others.

I’m excited to be attending “In Conversation with Michelle Obama” with the when she visits Australia in May.

As a former First Lady of the United States, bestselling author and global role model, Michelle has spent her career championing the next generation of leaders.

It’s rare to have the chance to hear directly from someone who has shaped a global conversation in the way she has.

Here’s a special friends and family ticket offer for my network, available only through this unique link: https://lnkd.in/gMgXGXAT

Note: An additional date has now been scheduled in Sydney - May 20 & 21.

I’d love you to see you there.

There’s no such thing as a “difficult” person.

You heard it.

Coming from someone who’s had plenty of opinions about people I thought were “difficult”.

I learnt a powerful lesson.

Labeling someone as “difficult” is fear in disguise.

🤔 Maybe someone challenged your ideas instead of agreeing.

🤔 Maybe someone spoke over you in meeting and you felt like you were thrown under a bus.

🤔 Maybe someone didn’t respond the way you expected: they were too blunt, too quiet, or too emotional.

Instead of telling the truth about how you feel, and
facing your own fear of speaking up,

The brain puts you into default, you avoid the discomfort by labelling them as the problem, calling them “difficult”.

It’s easier to judge others than get uncomfortable and listen beyond fear.

Authentic leadership begins with the willingness to walk courageously into the unknown.

Trade blame for curiosity,
Choose courage over comfort.

👉🏾 Next time you catch yourself labelling someone as “difficult,” pause and ask:

What might this person be experiencing that I haven’t yet understood?

The Power of Belief: The Secret to Motivating Your Team 02/11/2025

“How do I motivate my team?”

It’s one of the most common (and misunderstood) dquestions asked by leaders.

It’s great question - but what’s often missed is the real issue isn’t a lack of motivation.

It’s the frustration felt when people aren’t doing what’s expected.

The assumption follows:

If they’re not performing,
they must not be motivated.

In truth:
everyone is motivated.

The secret lies hidden in their beliefs, values, principles and ideals.

The Power of Belief: The Secret to Motivating Your Team Most leaders I meet share one common struggle: “How do I motivate my team?” You set clear expectations, give constructive feedback and track progress - and yet, something feels off. Performance isn’t improving.

Don’t be afraid to disappear and take time out from the relentless pursuit to do, do and do more.

Taking time out in your day, week, month or even a year may feel like a major setback, but rest assured, there are ways to turn every obstacle into an opportunity.

The future will take care of itself, when you take care of you.

Our life’s purpose can be found in unexpected events and grandiose gestures but more importantly it can be seen in the simple pleasures of life, in our interactions with others.

When our purpose is elucidated and we are present to it, we realise it is both new and has always been there.

The experience of satisfaction, peace of mind and flow are available when we are listening, living and leading with purpose.

The opportunity of connecting with purpose is living a life without regret.

Connecting with purpose is not something we express once in a while. It’s not something that comes and goes.

Purpose is expressed in every thought we have, every emotion we experience and every action we take.

A purpose is not something to get right or be judged by yourself and others.

It does not need to be significant or meaningful to other people, only to yourself.

For many generations, society has insisted on deciding a woman’s purpose (as a bride, wife, mother, caregiver, cook, cleaner, grocery buyer..)

It’s these often hidden and unconscious expectations, whether real or perceived, that leave a woman constrained, guilty or living in regret if her decisions are not a match.

🤯Nobody can tell you what your purpose is; only you can recognise it and own it.

🫰🏽 Your purpose is the reason why you exist. Yes, you matter and the impact you have in this life matters.

🫰🏽 It is the reason something is done or created. Everything matters; the question is simple, why do you do what you do?

🫰🏽 It is the intention, or objective to be attained or fulfilled in life. What is your attention on, what do you give your time to?

🧐Have you (or do you) ever experience others wanting to tell you your purpose?

😇 What is your purpose? Why are you here?

NAIDOC Week has officially begun!

2025 marks 50 years of celebrations - a significant milestone and a moment to reflect and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Thanks to Brothers & Sister Advocacy Group, I had the privilege of attending a screening of the “Voice: A Journey to be Heard” - a documentary that follows a group of young Indigenous Australians from the Deadly Inspiring Youth Doing Good (DIYDG) Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation.

The documentary captures their personal stories, hopes for the future, and the impact of the referendum on their lives.

I’m a descendant of the stolen generation of the Waka Waka and Kulluli First Nations Peoples. I pay my respects to our elders, past and present.

What if the leader you've been looking for… is already here?

Not the someday, one-day you.
Not the once-I’ve-proven-myself you.

The you that carries the wisdom, courage and vision to lead, now.

Because here’s the truth that most front-line,
emerging leaders overlook:
Everything you need to be the leader
you most admire is within you.

That doubt you feel?
It’s not because you lack the talent, skill or potential.

It’s because you’ve been measuring your worth,
against a standard that was never yours to begin with.

You don’t need more hustle,
or another certification to earn the right to lead.
You need clarity, intention and ownership of who you truly are.

🌱 All you need to remember is…

"I don't need to be loudest person in the room. I lead best when I listen, when I make people feel seen and heard - that's my superpower!"

🎯 All you need to focus on is…

"I’m here to create a culture where people feel safe to speak up, grow and bring their whole selves to work. That’s my purpose, and that’s the kind of leader I choose to be."

🔥 All you need to do is…

"Schedule a 15-minute one-on-one with someone on my team, not to talk about performance, but to ask them: "What’s one thing I can do to help elevate your success?"

Three simple steps,
One simple solution.

Your team, your future self, are not waiting for the perfect you.
They’re waiting for you to show up, just the way you are,
with compassion, authenticity and purpose.

Remember: You are the leader you’ve been waiting for!

Have a rockstar day, lead like its the only day you got!

What if your greatest leadership strength is the part no one sees?

Not the titles.
Not the performance.
Not the curated confidence.

The parts hidden beneath the surface - the history, hardship, identity and resilience that shaped you.

We live in a world obsessed with what’s visible.

Performance over presence. Optics over honesty.

Leadership programs that skim the surface, without touching the deeper truths.

But real leadership lives under the surface, in what systems have tried to silence, in the stories we’re told to hide, and in the parts we’ve been taught to protect.

I’ve lived it.

As a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman growing up in middle-class Australia, I was assumed to be part of the majority.

But under the surface was my identity as an Aboriginal woman, shaped by the legacy of the Stolen Generations silenced tapestry.

I watched people speak freely unaware, making ill informed assumptions, stereotypes, jokes and humour to hide the narcassicim.

I stood silent,
holding pride and pain.

Eventually, I realised: it’s not enough to break the illusion for others, I had to break it myself.

It was time to stop hiding and speak my truth.

It was time to reclaim the narrative and be a creator.

Because purpose doesn’t live in the polished version of some ‘do good’ mission, it lives in the unspoken layers, invisible labour and quiet strength of presence.

Leaders don’t just need tools, they need truth, context and courage.

💡 What parts of your story have shaped your leadership but remain unseen?

💡 Where are you leading from performance instead of purpose or presence?

💡 What have you survived, inherited or overcome that is a source of wisdom?

💡 What would be possible if you led from your whole self, not just the part the world is comfortable with?

Leadership isn’t found in what’s polished, it’s revealed in what’s real.
