The Sounds of Chow Gar, presented by electronic/acoustic duo Shugorei, is an extraordinary fusion of film, live music and martial arts.

Featuring a breathtaking cinematic portrayal of traditional Chinese solo kung fu forms, the film is brought to life by musicians performing live on stage, matching every movement with precision. Original music for percussion, strings and electronics, composed by award-winning composer Thomas Green, combines with the sounds of breathing, heartbeats and footwork to create a powerful and immersive experience.

Telling the story of a Meanjin (Brisbane) family preserving the ancient tradition of Chow Gar Kung Fu across generations, this is a performance that explores discipline, heritage and movement in a truly unforgettable way.
