Congrats to 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡, 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐲 and 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐲 who all smashed it at the Cooper Finlay Cup for Queensland! 🏏💪

𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣: In an absolute run-fest, the other match on the weekend delivered entertainment in spades.

𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 posted a massive 9-287, powered by a sensational knock from 𝙅𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙧, who blasted 70 not out off just 32 balls, including 6 fours and 6 sixes.

A huge special mention must also go to 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙡, who somehow managed the outstanding figures of 5-29 from 7 overs despite all the carnage around him.

To 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀’ credit, the chase was nothing short of epic. 𝘼𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙒𝙚𝙨𝙩 gave them real hope with a brilliant 65 not out from 30 balls, featuring 7 sixes, while 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙝’s incredible 50 off 33 batting at number 10 turned the contest into an instant classic.

𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀 𝙍𝙀𝘾𝘼𝙋: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙤 𝙛𝙖𝙧!

𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 have pulled off a thrilling final-over victory, chasing down the reigning champion 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘽𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙨 and leaving them winless after two rounds.

The Bulls set a strong target of 4-230, led by 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙝’s sharp 50 off 39 balls, and looked to have the game back in their grasp after three quick wickets swung the momentum late.

But then came 𝙇𝙚𝙬𝙞𝙨 𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙤𝙣.

At 60 years old, Lewis produced an electric, fearless innings that completely changed the match. His hand-eye coordination was outstanding, and anything in his zone disappeared to the boundary. His brilliant 50no powered the Barbarians home with just 4 balls to spare.

A cracking game of cricket, full of skill, fight and great spirit from both sides. 👏🏏

The Cricket NSW Masters 50s/55s Board and selection committee thoroughly congratulate these outstanding players on being selected for Over 50s NSW team to play in a 4 way tournament with Victoria O50s, Mackay Masters and Townsville Masters in Mackay on the 23, 24 & 26 July 2026. Led by Captain Dave Newham, the side selected are of a Div 2 or Div 3 capacity for Nationals, giving these fringe players a chance to show their wares for future higher representation for NSW.
