eless telecommunications. Once my children left home…I was searching for what it was I was supposed to be doing with my life (at the tender age of 52). My search led me to Feng Shui (Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of interpreting our environment, and its laws, in order to live harmoniously and successfully in all areas of one’s life). Two of the subjects in Feng Shui led me to a burning desire to find out more. The first subject was Modern Feng Shui (which is the study of manmade influences on the environment in the home and look at water sampling, air pollution, mould, chemicals in our personal and cleaning products and electromagnetic fields. The second was Geobiology (which is the study of earth energies and their influence on health, wealth, home and garden). I was fascinated with this subject and was continually searching on the internet for other courses on this subject. All the courses were overseas and cost an arm and a leg to attend. I eventually found an Austrian naturopathic clinic (Geovital Acadamy) who have an office in Melbourne offering a course on Geobiology and Electromagnetic field testing and shielding. I booked in to attend this course in January 2014. At the time I booked the course I was experiencing some challenging health issues. I was studying up to 2–3 hours in the morning going home for lunch feeling exhausted. I hardly had the energy to walk up a very slight incline to my unit which I used to have no problem with earlier. I would have lunch and rest for about an hour and leave to continue studying for another 2-3 hours before coming home exhausted again. At night all I wanted to do was sleep. I would go to bed and I would just lay there, I couldn’t sleep, if I did sleep it was for very short periods and I would be wide awake again. This really impacted my life as I loved to get up very early in the morning go for a walk down the strand and participate in Dawn Yoga. I had to turn off my alarm and stop doing the things I enjoyed in the morning in case I managed to fall asleep. To top it all of I started to have memory problems. I had “brain fog” and would be speaking to people and half way through my conversation I would stop mid sentence as I completely forgot what I was saying. I found this extremely embarrassing. Anomia is where you are speaking and you know the words you want to say, you can see them clearly, but you cannot get them from your brain and out of your mouth. You could say my life had changed. I had always considered myself healthy and prided myself on not having to visit the doctor except for the routine womens’ health check. I was feeling very scared and concerned so I visited my Doctor. When I went back to get the results from my tests I feared the worst. Imagine my surprise when my doctor told me there was nothing wrong with me. I walked out of the doctors surgery feeling even more scared and confused than when I walked in. I couldn’t understand what they were not picking up. A couple of days later I went down to Melbourne to do a 4 day intensive with Geovital. While I was in Melbourne doing the course I had no trouble sleeping, my energy picked up and my memory had improved. Funnily enough it wasn’t until I came back to Townsville and started studying that my symptoms returned. It was then I realised that I was fine when I was in Melbourne. I realised it had to be something in my environment. After being away and learning the symptoms of exposure to EMFs I put two and two together and realised it was when I started using Wifi that my symptoms first started. I was using a WiFi dongle for internet access. I immediately ceased using WiFi and found a room in a business that used a cabled connection and paid a weekly rent for the room to complete my studies. When my lease run out on my unit I found a house to rent where I could use a cabled connection for my computer. Other little signs for me were in 2004 – 2005 when I used a cordless phone (See here for the damaging effects of cordless phones and health) and after being on the phone for a period of time my ear would burn and turn bright red. I knew this wasn’t good and started to use speaker phone when I could. This also happens when I use a mobile phone. In 2012 I started using a tablet while sitting on the lounge. Each time I used the tablet I would get heart palpitations. After suffering these adverse health effects from this exposure I wanted to learn as much as I could. I found the most comprehensive course of Electrobiology (the study of Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and their impact on health)in Australia through the Australian College of Environmental Studies and went on to study in depth about EMR. My exposure to WiFi had a huge impact on me. I know what it is like to feel fit, vibrant and healthy. I can express what is happening to me. What about babies??? Babies that are exposed to this whilst in the womb, maybe while their mum is scrolling through facebook while breast feeding, or lives in a house with WiFi. How does this baby express what is happening…this baby grows up continually exposed to WiFi…How do they know what feeling good feels like. What about the child that is taken to doctor after doctor, then naturopaths etc. The list goes on..parents searching doing anything they can because they instinctively KNOW that something is not right…yet they cannot get the answers…what if it is exposure to EMFs??
