Introducing Our New President - Dale Fleming
It’s hard to think of anyone more fitting to fill the role of CATS Cricket Club President.
Dale has been a fixture at CATS since he could walk, tagging along whenever he could to watch his Dad, Eric, play. He was finally allowed to take the field at around 10 years old, when our seniors were short of numbers — and thankfully for the club, he’s stuck around ever since.
On the field, his record speaks for itself. Tons, plenty of scalps and three C Grade premierships as captain are just some of many highlights.
But it’s off the field where Dale has quietly made an enormous contribution to CATS. For the past seven years, he has served as Treasurer, doing plenty of the heavy lifting behind the scenes to help keep the club on the right track. On top of that, he has spent many years helping out with social events, running the bar and serving on the committee.
After stepping down as Treasurer at the AGM in July, we thought Dale might finally get a well-earned break from the CATS executive.
That break lasted just three weeks.
Dale accepted the role of President at last weeks meeting, and there really couldn’t be a better time — or a better bloke — to take CATS forward.
His years at the club have given him an incredible knowledge of our history, our people and what makes CATS tick. More importantly, he genuinely cares about this club and its future.
Congratulations, Dale — and from all of us at CATS, let’s get right behind him and work together to make CATS the best club we can be, both now and for the future.
Go Cats!! We’ve got a big year ahead, so keep your eyes peeled 👀🐈🐈
