Nigel Smith Charity Round 💙💛

Our Nigel Smith Premier League Queensland Charity Round was completed yesterday, with the Tweed Ospreys claiming the Charity Shield with a 78–67 victory in an intense Round 10 clash.

While the Ospreys took home the shield, the biggest win belonged to an incredible cause.

Thanks to the generosity of our Bowls Committee, members, players and supporters, we raised an outstanding $3,475.90 for MND Australia through our charity raffles.

A special thank you to the Smith family for joining us on the day and for their generous raffle donation in honour of Nigel's legacy. Your support helped make the day special.

Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, cheered on the teams and helped us donate to fight MND.

💙 The Nigel Smith Premier League Charity Round💙

This Sunday, our Tweed Ospreys take on the Club Helensvale Hawks in a special Premier League Queensland Charity Round, honoring Nigel Smith and raising funds for MND Australia.

Nigel Smith was a dedicated and loyal Tweed Osprey, admired throughout the bowls community not only for his success on the green, but also for his remarkable service to the sport – particularly during his tenure as President of Bowls Australia. This shield, created in his honour, ensures that his passion and commitment continue to inspire players for years to come.

Join us at Club Tweed from 9:00am for a fantastic day of bowls, community and giving back.

LADDER UPDATE | AFTER ROUND 8

Eight rounds down, and the finals race is tightening.

Broadbeach Bulls remain on top despite their first loss of the season, while Burleigh Dragons, Tweed Ospreys, and Club Helensvale Hawks completed perfect Triple Header weekends to make major moves on the ladder.

With just three competition points separating the top six, the race is well and truly on. With only the top five advancing to the Premier League Queensland Finals, every rink and every shot could prove the difference.

Our Over 90s Morning Tea was held on Wednesday, and it was a celebration of some of Club Tweed's longest-standing members.

We were delighted to welcome 30 members, who joined us alongside their families and carers for a special morning together.

We feel incredibly privileged to have such a strong and connected community at Club Tweed. Many of those pictured have been members for decades, and their loyalty, friendships and contribution to our club are something to be cherished.

Thanks to our Bowls Committee, and our catering team for putting on a great morning celebrating our members.

A huge thank you to all of our members who joined us for our President’s Charity Day. It was fantastic to see 100 members in attendance, making it a wonderful day for two incredible local charities.

We’re proud to have donated $2,000 each to Tweed Heads Red Cross and Wedgetail Retreat two organisations that are close to the hearts of our Presidents and our members. The donations have come directly from our members trading table and wrong bias tin.

Adding to the day’s generosity, the Club Tweed Board also pledged an additional $250 to each charity.

A special thank you to our catering team for the fantastic meal, and to our bar staff for keeping everyone looked after throughout the day. Your hard work helped make the event such a success.

Thank you to everyone who supported the day and helped make a meaningful difference in our community.
