Personal Development Coaching — Megan Luscombe 25/01/2024

I worked with a coach when I was 22 because I was seriously lacking in confidence and needed some help when it came to being better at communicating and implementing boundaries.

Flash forward to now.

I'm 36, a solo business owner and certified coach who helps people in those exact same areas.

Crazy, hey?

What I did then was invest in my personal development. I took a risk on myself and spent close to my monthly salary (at the time) doing so (was $3k investment) and I'm so glad I did because it really changed everything for me.

It allowed me to find my voice and get clear on the next steps I needed to take in my life. Those steps included leaving a marriage, re-assessing my friendship group and *so* much more. All of which I couldn't have done had I not worked with my coach, she really helped me change my life.

It's because of that experience and all that I learned during it (about myself) that I've created my own personal development program for individuals who too want to change their life. I know the benefits of doing this work because I did it and I'm still reaping the benefits.

If this resonates, I'd love to work with you x

THE CANDLE 🕯️ METHOD ©️is probably one of my most favorite, customised strategies (and methods) I’ve come up with for a client.

Why? It’s fun, approachable, easy af to implement and even easier to understand.

The best way to have success in your relationship is by doing things that suit your relationship and those within it. This method worked for this couple because it played right into their unique personalities and strengths. It brought out the best in them in a fun and connecting way.

Getting to know the couple over 6 months allowed me to create this strategy and method FOR them.

Does your relationship need customised strategies to keep connected? Book a program in with me already. I got you.

Candle sales gonna be doubling after people read this post 😂🙆🏼‍♀️🕯️

If you try this method, make sure to DM me how it goes

If you went to work and consistently asked your boss what they needed you to do (even though your job role is clearly written out in your contract), you’d be fired for incompetence. So please stop bringing this behaviour into your relationship dynamics.

Top notch communication is imperative in relationships. It’s a non negotiable.

If you can’t communicate in your relationship you’re doing yourself (and the relationship) a huge disservice.

The thing is, you can get help for this. You can do a 3/6 month program with me and together we could create a personalized communication strategy that is suited perfectly for YOUR relationship.

Stop deprioritizing communication in your relationship and let’s work together.

If you manage a team you MUST know how to manage conflict because it’s bound to arise.

I see so many business owners shy away from this area of development because they find it intimidating and scary, but the thing is effective conflict management is vital for business owners and leaders to navigate as it ensures a harmonious and productive work environment.

When conflicts are left unaddressed or mishandled, they can disrupt team cohesion, hinder collaboration, and negatively impact morale and productivity.

They can also negatively impact the business as a whole (this includes sales and staff retention).

On the other hand, skill-full conflict management can lead to innovative problem-solving, improved team dynamics and strengthened relationships.

It promotes a culture of open communication and fosters an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, ultimately driving the business towards its goals and success.

Need help coming up with a CONFLICT RESOLUTION/MANAGEMENT STRATEGY in your workplace? Let’s work together already.

Following up from my latest REEL (check it out on IG), here’s some questions you might like to use when you implement WEEKLY CHECK-INS to your long term relationship

I harp on about relationship check-ins to all of my couples because it serves several vital purposes in nurturing a healthy and thriving partnership.

Here are the benefits (IMO):
✅ Open Communication: Creating a safe space for open, honest conversations.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✅ Conflict Prevention: Nipping minor issues in the bud before they turn into major battles.
✅ Alignment of Goals: Ensuring you're both on the same page (and journey) together.
✅ Problem-Solving: Tackling challenges as a TEAM.
✅ Continuous Growth: Reflecting, celebrating, and evolving - together and individually.
✅ Trust and Security: Building trust and emotional safety.⁣
✅ Routine Maintenance: Keeping your relationship maintained like a well-oiled machine.
✅ Quality Time: Cherishing moments of connection and intimacy.⁣
I encourage my clients to meet up weekly and use consistent questions for that extra dash of predictability (the questions I’ve used here aren’t mandatory but it’s a great place to start).

I often notice in my sessions that people often forget the importance of maintaining a sense of individuality and self-care whilst in relationships.

Now of course we know that relationships involve significant shared experiences and time spent together, however outside of that it's essential for individuals to continue nurturing their own personal growth, interests, and well-being.

People sometimes get so caught up in the dynamics of their relationship that they neglect their own needs, hobbies, and self-identity. This leads them to feelings of dependency, loss of personal fulfilment, and even strains the relationship itself.

This happens in all relationship dynamics by the way.

It happens when individuals become enmeshed with their friends and neglect their independence.
It happens when individuals become enmeshed with their family members and neglect themselves.
It happens when individuals become enmeshed with their romantic partner and stop focusing on their own needs as an individual.

It's crucial to remember that a healthy and successful relationship is built upon the strength of the individuals within it who continue to grow and thrive both together and separately.

Balancing togetherness with individuality is key to long-term relationship satisfaction and well-being.

If you’re stepping into a leadership position now or in 2024, we should *really* be working together because I really want to make you exceptional at the qualities I’ve mentioned above.

Having your own business coach is an invaluable resource if you’re wanting to exceed as a leader and when you work 1:1 with me you get tailored support, objective feedback, skill enhancement, and a range of benefits that contribute to you being more effective, confident, and impactful in your leadership.

Business coaching is tax deductible (if the coaching relates specifically to your business or professional development and earning potential - which is does) and if you’re an employee some companies will let you use their L&D budget (so you should definitely ask).

I’ve been running my own business since I was 25. I’m almost 37. I’ve lead teams, employed staff and I’ve helped COUNTLESS clients step into new roles as leaders or become BETTER leaders by enhancing their current skills.

This space is my jam.

So, invest in your professional development and let’s work together already.

It’s been over 6 months that I’ve been unable to be found on Instagram via the search option.

I thought I was shadowbanned.

Turns out it’s something affecting ALL Megan’s.

So instead of waiting for META to fix the issue, I’ve been proactive and changed my username to eliminate my first name and simply just have the first letter followed by my surname.

From today, I’m MLUSCOMBE_ and I feel like it’s going to bring with it a new (positive and exciting) era of my business growth and journey.

My "Embrace You" workshop has come from years of professional experience in working 1:1 with women in making significant improvements (and positive changes) to their relationship with themselves.

Think areas such as: growing confidence, eliminating imposter syndrome, understanding self-sabotage, setting boundaries, becoming a better communicator and removing their inner critic (plus more).

I realised at the core of these areas was a deep, profound lack of self-love (and limited self-esteem) and so began my work on creating this workshop.

“Embrace You” empowers women to cultivate a positive mindset and to truly foster self-love and it’s a workshop that’s been 4 years in the making and one I am extremely proud of.

The half-day workshop provides practical tools, strategies, and actionable steps to enhance self-esteem, build self-love and embrace an individuals unique (and one-of-a-kind) qualities.

The women who attend will unpack their societal beliefs surrounding self-love, understand the steps necessary to GROW self-love and then create their own self-love plan (everyone’s is different).

The workshop is a safe space for personal growth and significant change, with no public speaking required.

It is capped at 15 attendees and is suited for women who are serious about liking and loving themselves.

I can’t wait to see you there!

Time outs aren’t just for little humans, big humans need them too and IMO should be using them a lot more when it comes to heated arguments and conflict within relationships.

A time out sounds like:

“I need to take 10 so I can clear my thoughts and come back to this conversation less reactive and defensive” OR
“Can we please press pause on this and come back to it when we are both feeling a little less heated? How does a few hours work?”

Sit down with your partner and decide on what a time out would look like in your relationship. You’ll thank me for it later.

It’s been over a year but I’m taking small steps to venture back into the land of my Facebook business page.

If you’ve stuck around, thanks.

If you’re new here, hi 👋🏼 I hope my content is able to positively assist you and all of your relationships … starting with this reminder.

After working with couples for 12 years I have grown to learn that many couples compare their relationship to another's.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Are we as happy as them?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Do we have as much s3x as them?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Do we laugh as much as them?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Should we get angry about the things THEY get angry about?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've heard it all and then some.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You see, individuals can't help but compare. It's our inherent pack mentality, we wan't to belong so when we think we're going outside the norm, we seek evidence to bring us back into the fold.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The thing is, when it comes to relationships, yours doesn't have to look like anyone else's. In fact, it shouldn't. It should just look like how you (and your partner/s) want it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can be easy to compare and even harder to not, but I really want you to try by telling yourself this reminder daily and giving yourself permission to exist in your relationship without wondering about someone else's.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As long as it's consensual, whatever you do in (and outside) of your relationship, is absolutely up to you.

Long live self-pleasure and for the partners who see it as collaboration…NOT competition 🤌🏼🔥

Boundaries with family members are SUCH a vibe 🤌🏼✨ and when it comes to setting them, you’ve really got to champion yourself (even though it feels hard).

I’ve done podcasts on boundaries (link in bio) if you want to delve further into their importance.

You don't need to say sorry every time you say no to something (I mean you can if you want, but it's not mandatory) and I want to remind you of that.

NO, it doesn't make you rude. The included sentences/scripts are just a few examples and none of them are rude, dismissive or negative at ALL.

Being able to decline things without feeling bad/saying sorry is an important part of self development and self confidence.

If you need help in this area, book a session

It can be hard to let go or move forward from a relationship, I get it.

But what’s harder in the long term is staying somewhere that isn’t positively serving and I don’t want that for you.

I want you to feel valued. I want you to feel heard. I want you to feel (and be) safe. I want you to be respected. I want you to be in a relationship that fulfills you.

Is it time for you to let go/move forward from your relationship? I’m here to support you with 1:1 sessions.

Am pinning this to my grid for future reference also 🔥👌🏼

My very first ONE DAY INTENSIVE is done and I am still in a euphoric state of happiness and gratitude.

5 hours of deep diving into: boundaries, communication, emotions and emotional regulation, using a growth mindset, silencing the inner critic, understanding and removing limiting beliefs and *SO* much more.

These deep dives are capped at attendees to ensure I can also answer any and ALL questions and yesterday I did just that.

My 1DI (1 Day Intensives) are held in safe, comfy spaces like this because the feel of a room is essential to the overall experience in my opinion and this venue? Absolutely perfect.

To those who came, thank you again. I am in absolute gratitude of you all for investing in yourself and me on my very first 1DI ~ I’ll forever remember this day. What an incredible experience it was.

To those who missed out, yes, I’ll be running it again in a few months and to those around Australia - don’t worry, I’m bringing this to your state.

Sending love and gratitude to y’all 😍🌸🔥 - ML xo

Do people really read these ‘about me’ pages and if so, how much of them do they actually read?

It’s questions like these that I ask myself whilst standing in the shower (shower thoughts) or waiting in line for a coffee…and I’m still unsure of the answer.

Regardless, here’s some information about me if you’re still reading along…
