Paddling Around the World with BRD!

Who says you need a tour bus to see the world? At Brisbane River Dragons, we like to travel with a paddle.

We currently have BRD paddlers around the globe:

🇸🇬 Singapore – our Masters Men Outrigger crews competed at the IVF Sprint Championships

🇫🇷 France – our amazing MBT Breast Cancer Survivor crews are proudly representing DAB and BRD at the IBCPC Festival.

🇹🇼 Taiwan – our Senior C dragon boat paddlers are taking on the Club Crew World Championships at beautiful Liyu Lake.

Different events, different countries, same passion.

From outrigger canoes to dragon boats, paddling gives us a pretty fantastic way to see the world, challenge ourselves, make lifelong friendships and have a LOT of fun along the way!

Paddle. Travel. Explore. Repeat.

Who knows where the BRD paddles will take us next?

As our Dragon Boaters head to Taiwan, our Outriggers are heading home from Singapore.

The IVF World Sprint Championships have come to a close. 38 countries represented.

Our Master Men 40s team Rob Zane Aidan Axel Cade Lawrence, competed in
V12 500 with Sunset Bay.
V6 1000 turns
V6 500 straights

They gave it their all and made repechage in all of their events.

The first time for most at a world level.

They paddled hard, gained great experience and absolutely made their club proud.

Shannon raced with Sunshine Coast MW50s in
V6 1000 turns
V6 500 straights
Her team got into repechage and semi finals for the straights

Tom raced with Scarborough OCC MM50s in
V12 500
V6 1000 turns
V6 500 straights
His team made all repechage and semi finals for the straights.

We wish them all a safe journey home !

Except Axel and Faye who are next stop Taiwan to compete with the Dragon Boaters.

We are pumped for this coming years racing with AOCRA

With less than a week to go before we head to Taiwan for the Club Crew World Championships our Senior C Dragon Boat crew would like to take a moment to say a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us in this journey.
To our fellow club members who trained with us, the individuals and businesses who have provided or participated in fundraising activities, those who have generously donated or sponsored us and our family and friends who have supported us every step of the way - thank you! We are incredibly grateful for every contribution.
As we head to Taiwan we’ll be paddling hard, racing with pride and and carrying your support with us.

Trudy Taniwha the club coach has been helped by Lawrence Taniwha who has coached and mentored the boys to the best of their ability.

A huge thank you to the Mt Gravatt Hotel and A&M Meats for your incredible support of the Brisbane River Dragons crew travelling to Taiwan in a few weeks to compete at the Club Crew World Championships.
