Experimenting with different ratios of cedar dust and fumed silica to get a good match for filling small gaps that inevitably happen.
Many strips = may joints = increased chance of gaps.

Whatever it takes.
The point of this strip was pointing down. So a bendy strip to push it up from beneath was the answer.

1 strip at a time.
Not using bead and cove strips has slowed the build.
However, the result is a lot tighter. So we'll worth the extra effort for a hand crafted canoe.

Australian Mahogany and Silver Ash highlights outer stems now on.

Back into building the Bobs Special after a long hiatus.
Working on the next step. Which is the football and the outer stems.
I have decided to add a highlight strip of Silver Ash to the Australian Mahogany outer stems.
The football will have a Mahogany stringer with Silver Ash highlights.
