Fair question. Half the answer is that it’s different, it can be fun (sometimes), and if you can do a wall walk, imagine what else you could do? And honestly that’s reason enough to give it a go.
The other half: when you’re walking your feet up a wall or holding a handstand, your whole body weight is going through your hands and shoulders.
That builds real upper-body strength, the kind you actually use outside the gym, like carrying the shopping in one trip or pushing yourself up off the floor without having to think about it.
And if part of why you train is wanting to look good and feel good in your body, that’s a completely valid goal. Strength tends to take care of both, and it’s a lot easier to stick with when you’re actually enjoying the session.
So if you’ve been eyeing the wall wondering whether to have a crack, consider this your nudge.
