LWC Adelaide 2018 is proudly South Australian and an exciting addition to the States’ Major Events calendar. Through the delivery of a world class event and experience for competitors and audiences, South Australia will build credibility that will support future bids to regularly host the World Championships. The competition program is delivered over 16 days with an official opening and closing ceremony to welcome and farewell competitors and visitors. Ride the Wave is a community program of events aimed at raising awareness of the Lifesaving Movement, Surf Lifesaving SA’s programs and surf sports. It will be delivered over 24 months, culminating in the opportunity to participate in a community activity at the LWC2018. A full schedule of festive activities will be developed to support the LWC competition program, and to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience is had by visitors, competitors and community. The program will showcase Adelaide and surrounding areas, offering tours, activities and events in the City of Holdfast Bay, City of Adelaide, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
