Melbourne Budokai Kenshikan Dojo

The Melbourne Budokai (formerly the Melbourne Kendo Club) is a martial arts club that trains in the Japanese arts of Kendo, Iaido, and Naginata.

The Kenshikan Dojo has been the home of The Melbourne Budokai since 1990. The Kenshikan Dojo is the only purpose built Japanese martial art training hall in Victoria. The Kenshikan is also the home of the Victorian Kendo Renmei, the state governing body for Kendo and Iaido.

MBK is hosting the Okada Sensei Visit 2026 (Friday, 2 Oct - Tuesday, 6 Oct)!

Joining Okada sensei this year are several 7th Dan sensei

For the first time, the Nagae Taikai will also be part of Day 2 of the Kendo Workshop.

- Kendo Workshop (3 & 4 October)
- Nagae Taikai (4 October)
- Toho sessions (2 & 5 October)
- Farewell keiko (6 October)
