All sorts of exciting stuff happening these days, at Injection Connection/Kalmaker, particularly with aftermarket CanBus progress, and how Canbus Car Performance/Enthusiast Engineers have been delving in to making modules to connect and allow different brands of vehicles talk to each other, so that everything works, such as, Electronic Dashboards, AC, Cruise control, ABS, Tiptronic Shifting, etc etc...
Shown here is the latest one I've come across, for converting these Ford Ranger's when the diesel engine dies...
This one has a 6L and 6L80e 6 speed auto trans in it, and as you can see in the photo quite a few wires from the GM e38 X-1 connector run direct to the Ford Ecu, and integrates with everything virtually plug and play..
The green board you see is the Translator, and the Ford ecu needs opening up, and the main board removing, and replaced with this Translator which has all the essential canbus hardware required, without all the old unused engine hardware.
The blue connector is the Tiptronic Patch connector, and the other 2 connectors will be wired in when we fit it up, as I don't know the exact measurements yet..
The LS harness shown is a good used VE harness modified a little to suit, or i can make a new harness, which costs a little more.
The Translator is a very reasonable price, considering other Canbus guys want around $1200 just to do cruise, or in my case Shift Command modules for a similar price, although final price not confirmed yet..
I will post more when fitted and up and running..

A long time between posts, I know, and phew, things have been hectic as usual.
It was a huge move with Zared Fox moving into his new workshop, but its back to business as usual and now a distant memory.
I'm mostly tuning 5L and V6 stuff but also tuning all Zared LS conversions and of course all the guys I'm doing LS harnesses for
The photo is of my 36 Chev I've been building over last 18 months when I get a chance....
It is a Holden built Chev, build number 308 of 435 made, and so I decided to do a 308 lookalike LS2 with a 6 speed 6L80e auto, where I've fitted a 4 barrel manifold and fitted the FBW throttle body vertically, with a Cadillac air filter at present, but looking for a 308 type if any of you have one...
I bought the LS to tin rocker cover adapters out of Melbourne and had to make the alternator mount to clear the higher covers.
I've mounted a 5L fake dizzy at the back where the leads pass though to the coilpaks behind the firewall.... along way to go yet..
The majority of my work is making from scratch, brand new 6L, LS3, LSA harnesses mostly to suit 6L80e autos and everything to make them work in all types of vehicles, from Patrols, Cruisers, to street cars to hotrods.
I also make new, or convert LS1 harnesses, as well as a few 5L or V6 harnesses
I have ads on Gumtree, and have a turnaround of about 2 to 3 weeks

Lately I've been "upgrading" several LS1 type VZ's from fbw back to cable throttle either in actual VZ models or in conversions.
It's dead easy to do, and I've made a patch harness to suit with IAC and TPS connectors one end and the other end with LS1 terminal cut and crimped to length, and its as easy as opening the ecu plugs and inserting into the empty spaces.
Obviously you need a cable type pedal and cable, along with earlier same 3 bolt style throttle body, or even larger 4 bolt type if you have LS2 cathedral port type manifold or FAST etc..
The tune only needs a couple of things changed and doesn't affect your existing stock or cammed tune whether mafless and includes info how to mod tune in either HPTUNER or EFILIVE, so if ecu is tuned already, you can just take ecu to ecu to your tuner to update.
I'm doing these for $110 incl postage and gst
As you can see in photo, it's easy and easy to copy if you don't have a hundy spare..

Geez, time flies when you're busier than a 1 legged tap dancer... 634 day since last post.. phew.
Anyway, Steve brought back his really nice twin throttle 355 running a LS1 ecu on it, which btw, isn't a real good suitable setup, in the present manner, how it is setup to run off a VT distributor with just 1 coil...
Anyway he has been having heaps of trouble and has been running a Bosch 044, another part I don't rate or like... he thought it might be the lift fuel pump, so replaced it with a Walbro 255L intake pump, and this didn't fix the problems either.
So after various eliminating test today, we bypassed the 044 and hey presto, it fixed it...
As you can see, we have now eliminated the whole swirl pot crap dinosaur setup.
I'm always advising guys against this method of 2 pumps and swirlpot, and here is yet another example, and for the unwary of how you can blow your engine or minimum of head gaskets when one pump sh*ts itself...

Paul brought his HG ute up from Albany with a nice 355 in it with all the fruit and ported heads running a hi stall 4l60e and it pulled 361rwhp with a wicked bark and tough as...
All these earlier pre LS engines are tuned with realtime Kalmaker software this one running our W30 Operating system

Then Wade brought his cammed ecotec skid car in, with engine from a ex saloon race car, and it pulled 258rwhp

Adam brought his stock manual LS1 Cobra in that I did the harness and start tune for, and it wasn't running too happy ... I soon spotted that the o2 sensor plugs were arse about... which really upsets things..
Anyway it smashed out 348rwhp which is a bit of a record for a stocky... and with that power to weight ratio, its like driving a 500hp Commodore...

Next up is Jacksons LS1 turbo ute, which I tuned a while back but developed a misfire.... ummm the turbo melted the left bank leads.... anyway all fixed and better insulated, with 525rwhp on 8.5lb boost...

I've been doing some really nice 5L's lately and there's nothing like working on well prepared cars
This is Geoff's LH with cammed 284 5L manual, and it knocked out 261rwhp which with that power to weight ratio, it goes very well
Beautiful car with the right bits on it.

Time for a very worthy post
This is Jon's VS SS with a 355 built by Brian of Outlaw Performance and fitted with a Crane 288 solid cam with 4 barrel throttle body and manifold backed up to a T400, and big hi stall converter...
Not sure what pistons, but can't be flat tops as the comp wasn't too high, which meant, (once again) that I could get some advance into it, as you can see by the hp, and 356 ain't too bad through a t400 with 20 inch rims...
Definitely a LS slayer with torque over 400 ft lbs on the hit...
The video has that unmistakable Holden V8 sound, and sounds good on big screen with good sound..
