BREWER SHIELD | ROUND 1 | T20

The Southern Swans were back in action for their first game of the season, taking on Blacktown in Round 1 of the Brewer Shield T20 competition at the beautiful King George V Oval, Port Kembla.

After Blacktown won the toss and elected to bowl, the Swans finished their 20 overs at 5/93, with Georgia Lovegrove top-scoring with 27, Nandu Jagarlamudi contributing 18 and Eliza Wall adding 16.

The Swans fought hard to defend their total, with Sally Ryan striking in the very first over to finish with an impressive 1/6 off 2 overs. Sharlysse Biela and Samreen Kumar also picked up a wicket each, but Blacktown managed to chase down the target in 16 overs.

While the result wasn’t what we hoped for, there were plenty of positives to take away from our first hit-out of the season. Plenty to build on as we keep working together and growing as a team!

Heads up, Swannies! Great things to come!

Everyone is warmly invited to attend our Annual General Meeting this Thursday night!

This is a great opportunity to hear about the season that was, have your say in the future of our club, and learn more about how we can continue to grow the Southern Swans Cricket Club.

We would also love to welcome new faces to our committee. Like all community sporting clubs, we rely on volunteers, and we really want people to get involved.

Many hands make light work, and even a small contribution can make a big difference.

We hope to see as many people as possible at the AGM.

We would also love to welcome new faces to our committee. Like all community sporting clubs, we rely on volunteers, and we really need more parents to get involved. We understand how busy family life can be, but there are plenty of ways to help—whether that’s taking on a committee role, assisting with a specific project, or lending a hand occasionally throughout the season.

Many hands make light work, and even a small contribution can make a big difference.

We hope to see as many people as possible at the AGM.

A huge congratulations to Katie Martin, the Southern Swans 2025/26 Player of the Year!
Katie has had a fantastic season, making a standout contribution with the bat, including the Southern Swans’ highest-ever score of 93. Her hard work off the field has clearly paid off in her performances on it. She quietly goes about her role and is a highly valued member of the team. Congratulations, Katie!
